StarHub Presents MBC Korean Music Wave in Singapore

Thirteen of K-pop’s hottest acts will descend into Singapore this November for the unprecedented 2013 MBC Korean Music Wave concert.

Scheduled to take place on November 16 at 7p.m at the scenic Gardens by the Bay, the MBC Korean Music Wave concert (or Music Wave in short) is the largest ever multi-band K-pop concert on the island-republic and is jointly organized by one of South Korea’s biggest broadcasters, Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, and Singapore-based Fatfish Entertainment.

The stunning lineup of K-pop’s hottest names include SHINee, EXO, 2PM, 2AM, F.T. Island, B1A4, TeenTop, B.A.P, Kara, Sistar, Miss A, IU, and 4Minute, with mystery superstars set to be MCs for the night.

Members of B1A4, TeenTop, MissA, who were present at the announcement press conference, shared their excitement on being able to meet their Singapore fans soon and expressed the hope that all K-pop lovers and live music fans in the region will enjoy this one-night only concert together.

Tickets for the K-pop extravaganza in Singapore range from S$168 to S$688 and will be available from www.singtic.com from September 2. Super Junior leader Leeteuk has been receiving flak from some netizens after delivering the final speech at MBC‘s ‘Korean Music Wave in Google‘ concert recently held in California.

On May 21st, Google and YouTube hosted MBC ‘Korean Music Wave in Google‘ in Mountain View, California and the concert was streamed live through YouTube.

Towards the end of the concert, all the artists came on stage together to sing the customary traditional Korean song, “Arirang“. When the song came to a close, Leeteuk grabbed his microphone and closed the event saying, “Our languages and our faces may be different, but the music has united us as one.” But netizens began criticizing Leeteuk for delivering the closing speech, as Girls’ Generation‘sTaeyeon and Tiffany were the MCs for the event. They felt Leeteuk hindered Tiffany from giving the final speech, and staff members from the event who heard about the misunderstanding stepped forward to defend Leeteuk’s actions.

A representative from MBC who was at the event remarked, “The misunderstanding had spread amongst netizens, because they did not completely understand the situation at hand. The head director had specially asked Leeteuk to deliver the closing speech, as he is exceptionally talented and experienced when it comes to leading such events. The director had simply wanted to neatly and efficiently end the large-scale show.”

“It makes no sense to say that he had interrupted Tiffany from making her speech,” the representative continued. “The fact that Leeteuk stepped on stage with a mic already in hand proves that everything was pre-meditated.”

Immature sones, please get the facts right next time before you start bashing like an idiot.

Leeteuk also attempted to relieve any misunderstandings by writing on his Twitter page, “Towards the end of “Arirang”, a cue card went up asking me to deliver the closing comment. If it was wrong of me to respond to the producer’s cue and deliver a speech during a show that was streamed live all over the world, then I apologize. I will respectfully reject any gifts of criticism that are given without reason.”

Meanwhile, some of today’s top artists performed at the concert, including TVXQ, Super Junior,Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, KARA, B2ST, MBLAQ, SISTAR, f(x), and more.

Y U STIR UNNECESSARY TROUBLES?!

So I was watching MBC's KMW concert this afternoon and out of nowhere the comments got my attention. Apparently, Leeteuk interrupted Tiffany's finale speech and Taeyeon made a face to display her annoyance. Honestly, I wouldn't have give a fuck to any of this if the immature sones didn't make such a big deal out of this. Their ignorance sometimes pushes my tolerance to limits. Those die-heart sones were flaming and bashing Leeteuk over twitter, calling the leader of SJ a mosquito etc etc. If I were you, I would have get my facts right before jumping into conclusion that Leeteuk was trying to steal the spotlight of MC from Tiffany. Ignorance can be forgiven, but by being ignorance and lashing out on the innocent party (by calling names and bashing the person) just to protect your subject of interest is VERY immature and basically retarded. Thanks to them, sones and elf have earned bad reputation, and unnecessary fanwars are created. To these bunch of sones who jumped into the bandwagon and bashed Leeteuk, my advice to you is to shut the fuck up and show basic respect in the future. It's a very simple principle to understand, not that hard to practice. Your behaviour basically influences how other fandoms see you as - one word, immature.
