La Strada – Cormac McCarthy, riflessioni da Bob

Non è affatto il miglior libro che abbia letto, semplicemente un bel libro.

L’autore non è certo un novellino (lo stesso di non è un paese per vecchi e della trilogia della frontiera) e questo libro gli è valso il premio Pulitzer non a caso: ha riversato in queste pagine un mare di emozioni tutte velate da una malinconia di fondo.

Avrebbe potuto scrivere una storia dove si intervallavano momenti tristi e felici, ma ha preferito tenere sempre un tono apparentemente apatico e malinconico e nascondere sotto questa patina temi di spessore considerevole (l’amore di in un padre per il figlio, la rassegnazione, la speranza ecc…).

Il libro è quasi un flusso di coscienza, come se scritto di getto, senza interruzioni (non è nemmeno diviso in capitoli).

Lo stile è semplice, quasi spoglio, ma contrariamente a quello che si penserebbe, questa semplicità lascia trapelare ogni singola paura o speranza dei personaggi, ogni loro timore, mettendoli a nudo sotto i nostri occhi.
