MC Trouble
LaTasha Rogers,professionally known as MC Trouble, was a rapper & emcee who was the first rap artist signed to Motown. At a time when the genre was emerging Motown was willing to take a risk on Trouble for wanting to ‘go in a new direction’. Her first LP called Gotta Get a Grip debut in 1990 & her first single Make You Mine (ft. The Good Girls) charted at #15 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. MC Trouble only released one album & 2 singles due to her untimely death at the young age of 20. Trouble made it possible for hip hop to be viewed as a successful genre & a true force in the music industry by being signed to a major label.
