young boy says "thank you" in a clear voice (sweet young lad, maybe the kids are alright after all)

older woman (mother?) stays silent and gives me the cisfem glare (seeing a tranny more youthful and delicate than her may have inflamed her terf gland)

teenage boy mutters "thanks" under his breath (either socially maladjusted (normal for teenagers) or shy when speaking to a pretty lady wearing a long skirt and blouse (understandable (we've all been there)))

i think "femboy" probably does describe me quite accurately but i'll never feel comfortable identifying with it while most people still use it to mean "trans woman i'm misgendering", "child i'm sexualising", or both.

i've definitely noticed an uptick in strangers looking at me like i killed their dog in the last year. the only connection i can make there is that people keep thinking i'm a teenager now, so maybe that's got something to do with it?

i get so many dirty looks whenever i'm in public, i've no idea why. it happens regardless of how i'm dressed or who i'm with - mostly older people staring at me like they think i can't see them. i was at a restaurant recently and this cis woman on the table next to us stared at me for what felt like minutes with this bitter, disgusted expression. it's really odd.
