Mel tucked her feet under her with a soft smile, taking a drink of her wine. She would always be thankful for Kai's friendship. They'd managed to stick around eachother for some odd 30 years now. After Tommy died and she made the decision to transition to Medical Examiner from the ER, she couldn't deny that a few friends disappeared. She understood, they led busy lives and not many people really knew what to say. Kai however was not one of them.
Her attention shifted back to her friend with a smile. "So are you going to tell me what's bugging you?"
