Day 2 of MCAT Take IV.
Started studying at around 14:00 today. Late start, I know. With no real reason as to why, except that I cleaned my room.
It wasn’t messy. And could’ve been done later.
Anyway, accomplished most of what I needed to today. Realized that I don’t know as much as I thought. Which makes sense why I haven’t done as well as I should on my previous MCAT attempts. It’s discouraging having to review things that I should know and getting stuck on them while half of the people I know are either in medical school or have gotten accepted into some sort of professional school and are waiting to start.
Can’t let myself down. This one is for me this time. I can do this.

Dr. Brian Radvansky shares the story of his path as a non-traditional med school applicant and why he wishes he'd taken a different approach to MCAT prep.
The ride to med school’s often a bumpy one, but you don’t have to travel alone.
Navigate the sometimes murky, disorienting and choppy MCAT prep waters with these key questions.

13 January 2018. 19:42. When your MCAT CARS book is really freaking depressing, but you carry on with your day anyway. Slow day today, but chugging along. Been at the library since 11:00, feeling the burnout. Leaving soon because I just can’t take it anymore. Day 6/75 Days of MCAT.
Due to COVID-19 testing cancellations, AAMC is shortening the MCAT exam for the rest of 2020. Learn more about the updated exam and how best to prepare.
A shorter #MCAT? Here’s what you need to know.
22 January 2018. 18:06. It’s been an (eh) productive day. I woke up later than anticipated (what else is new?). But I have finished a giant chapter of biochem and two topics of Khan Academy videos, so I’m quite proud of myself for that. I still have two chapters of chemistry to do today. This is the first pen that I’ve completely used up in quite a while. Maybe that’s symbolic. Though I don’t know how. My brain is a bit fried. Maybe it’s because I’ve been thinking of starting fresh today. It’s a Monday. I’ve been a little out of it this past week because of family stuff, among other things. I started a new pen. 15 January 2018. 19:29
Hello world. I’m sad to say that today felt like an epic fail. But it’s okay to acknowledge when those days happen, because regardless of how well you plan things and how carefully you construct your schedule, there are bound to be things that occur that are out of your control.
Today was that day for me. I woke up late, left my house later than anticipated, couldn’t find a coffee shop that wasn’t packed to the brim, the libraries that I alternate between had wonky hours that I wasn’t a fan of or that I had difficulty finding parking for. So I came home, where I am sitting at a table listening to whatever religious leader my mother is currently listening to on her iPad on blast. Mind you, I’m trying to study, but this is her background music, so who am I to encroach on her daily routine because I inconvenienced her by coming home.
I was able to finish at least some Khan Academy videos, so that’s helpful, and now I’m working on some biochemistry. But I’m going to chalk today up to a partially productive day. I’m going to watch The Bachelor at 20:00, then catch some Zzz’s.
Start fresh again tomorrow morning with some jogging and jiu jitsu.
