I’ve heard that carylers/caryl fans want to let AMC know they are displeased. I know that there’s an event planning going on to let AMC know their displeasure, but speaking as a Melissa fan, could it be done another day and not on her birthday? Or birthday related?

I feel like her birthday should be about celebrating her and her accomplishment and life. No strings attached. No other agenda. It just feels, as an outside to the event, that it’s related to a ship and not really for her bday. I may be wrong but that’s how it feels.

I’m not in that fandom but please, could you guys reconsider the date?

Making a movie takes some time which has unfortunately shortened my time for this project. I am done now so we are taking it back full force! I've already transfered the design to the pillow. Now I have to do the contouring so that my mom can fill in the rest! And then it will be ready to go. I am shooting to have this mailed out at the beginning of November since that's the last month that Melissa receives things at the studio. That gives me enough time to finish the pillow! That also gives you guys enough time to write a little message to Melissa, a message that will be included in the gift! The message is open for all donors and can be sent to me via twitter (@vannenanne), tumblr (crownformcbride) or via a reply to this message. You have until the 25th of October to send it my way! I can't wait for her to read the messages! Can you?

A crown for McBride

As many of you know, our lovely and talented Melissa McBride was once again overlooked on the nominations for an Emmy. Though many of us know that she isn’t in this business for the fame and the awards we all agree that her work is not only priceless but deserves recognition.

From that knowledge and from the love I hold for her work and her, I came up with the thought of pitching in for a fan award that could show how much we support her, love her work, and how even though the Emmys snubbed her, we know she deserves all the awards. I then decided to run a little survey on Twitter to see if others thought the same as I, and if given the chance, they would be able to support a fundraiser to get her the award.

I was surprised that no one who voted chose “no”.

So here I am, deciding to go with it and see if we can get her that award that we all know she deserves.

Now, while I wish we could get her a little statue or something like that, I don’t think it’s plausible, so I went to the next possible thing; a crown. A handmade gemstone crown, because we all know she would rock it and because any queen deserves a crown.

I researched online a while ago (I had thought of getting her one before simply cause she’s awesome) and I came across a website that makes handcrafted crowns that are just gorgeous. But they are a little on the pricey side. Because of this I decided to open a tumblr and see what you all thought of it and so that we, as a community do her fans, could decide on which one we would want and could afford to get her.

Once the money has been fundraised, if it does count with your support, the chosen crown will be ordered. While we are waiting for the crown I will do my very best to contact her agency to see where I can securely ship it so it won’t get lost. Once the crown arrives I plan to ship it to her with a list of the fans that contributed so she knows we stand by her and support her and her work.

Of course, I’d keep you a hundred percent up to date on the process. My point is to make it as crystal clear for all of you guys so you can rest assured that I won’t steal your money and make a run for it.

So that’s the plan! Let’s give our queen a crown!!!

Keep in mind that this is a 100% voluntary and that it should be fundraised with extra money that you can afford to give. I wouldn’t want anyone to have to give up food, lodging or clothes money over this. If you can’t afford to give money, it’s alright, that doesn’t make you any less of a fan! Your contribution to this project, officially tagged as #CrownForMcBride and #FanAwardForMcBride, could be a simple share so that we can get the word out!

ALSO please keep in mind that this is not something that has been approved, spread, or endorsed by Melissa McBride.  To my knowledge she is not aware of this project, though she does follow me on twitter.  This is just us fans trying to show her that we care for her and appreciate all she does.

Now that I’ve told you guys the plan, here is the next step; choosing the crown. The website I mentioned creates this crowns is titled Elemental Child (elementalchild.com) and they have a bunch of gorgeous crowns. I, of course, would love to get her the absolute best but since this award is not just by me I can’t be the only one to chose it. The next post that you see by me will be a survey where you can chose which crown you’d like her to have. At the end of that survey I will look at the results and start the gofundme page with the amount we’d need to cover the crown that has the most votes.
