10x17 - Harry’s happy place

My only real takeaway from this episode is the fact that Harry Langford (even if he can’t afford the place, which he probably has other bank accounts anyway) decides he HAS to stay in the Leilani Suite at the Hilton Hawaiian Village because he has ‘fond memories of the place’ and it’s his ‘happy place’.

Excuse you, sir?! Who What were you doing in that suite that made it your happy place? Considering I don’t think you had been in Hawaii before about 3 or 4 years ago? Not in any memorable capacity for sure.

Man, my brain went into hyperdrive when you uttered those truly, truly obvious words and now clearly I have a new Danford fic to write. I’m percolating... even while wishing you’d accept Steve’s offer to be on the taskforce because then you and Danny would move in together since Junior needs his room back.

Though speaking of, an ideal solution is of course that Junior moves in with Tani, while Danny sells up his house and moves in with Steve but that’s yet ANOTHER fic with a different pairing that is also percolating...

I love Harry so goddamn much. Favourite guest star ever.

Admittedly, slightly disappointed that it was Tani and Juns who worked with Harry this episode. It could so easily have been mcdanno while Reyrei worked with Lou on the main case. But that’s my only gripe. Mcdannoford lights up the screen. I would have died. Obviously, I may have to just rewrite this episode swapping the character roles around like I did with the season 9 episode...

2019 fic round up meme

I think I wrote/posted more than I realised. I usually get into fic moods and suddenly I’ll write loads, then I get distracted away from it by other shiny things and spend months not writing. So in my head I feel like I’ve barely written/posted anything! But here we go. I guess it turns into a 2019 masterpost of Hawaii Five-0 fic...

A Little While

This one is an ABO that I released as part of a fic amnesty. It’s maybe not a true 2019 fic but I posted it in that timeframe. It bugged me for a long time because the opening concept was solid, I just wasn’t sure how to fill in some of the middle bits. But I was rereading it and got my brain in gear and finished it up enough to get posted. I did in some way want to make it a much bigger fic, but it’s got a beginning and a middle and an end now so I’m happy enough with it!

Sticking Around

The first of the 9x10/9x11 aftermath episode tag style fics. This was also my first real foray away from mcdanno (kinda) by throwing in some more overt Danford into the mix.

Ma Lalo O Na Uhi

A reimagining of 9x11 with Danny and Harry undercover at the casino (instead of Steve and Catherine). I still haven’t seen 9x10 and only watched Danny snippets from 9x11 but the tumblr community was a great help when I asked questions so I didn’t make any glaring mistakes with. names/locations etc! It’s my first true Danford fic!

Suite-ness

I was on a Danford kick at this point so went into their back catalogue of episodes and came up with another one that needed a tag with those two crazy kids getting together. So this one is post-8x21 PWP.

House of Pancakes

I don’t often do domestic fluff but sometimes things just lend themselves so well to it. This one taking place arond 9x13 and inspired by Steve’s pancake obsession. Well, Danny’s pancakes obsession. It was a lot of fun to write and really flowed quite quickly, which is usually my problem with domestic fluff aka what are they doing beyond just sitting around happily?!?!

Every Inch

If I could be ‘known’ for something in 2019, then it’s the really smutty PWP McDannoford threesome fics (with special guests). And for anyone who is curious, yes, I have other ideas on how to *ahem* stretch Danny in some more fics with some more very special guests joining the mix. These have been a lot of fun and my god my browser history in my research is... well, it’s something.

Conversation is Overrated

One of those fics where you get a sliver of an idea and you’re sure it’s going to lead somewhere but it doesn’t really? But I already had words down on the page so I muddled them into something self contained and posted!

Priorities

A small coda for 10x07 since everyone and their dog was writing one but hey, we all needed something at that point. It was cathartic to get it out. I don’t write Steve whump (I’m a Danny whump girl) so working on the comfort part of a hurt/comfort episode was a little bit more of a departure for me, but I think it turned out okay. I thought this might have a follow up fic I’ve been writing, but I think I’ll keep them separate now but this is still my headcanon for what happened in that hotel room.

I also did a new chapter of All About Chemistry (my high school AU ABO fic) and I’ve got a lot of other stuff I’ve written and not published yet. One fic is one where I really wanted to write it all before posting (I usually just have a bunch of WIPs) as well as some other fics that are just no where near ready but you can be assured they are all my usual ‘style’ of smutty AUs for the most part!

Here’s to 2020. I’ve got a lot of shifting hobbies and stuff right now but I also know that these characters still take up a large chunk of my brain. I’ve never stayed so focused on an OTP but then, no other show with an OTP of mine has been on the air for so many years (even if I barely watch the actual show anymore!). So I fully intend to have more mcdanno or danford or mcdannoford or mcdannoford+ fics written this coming year!

When you are rewatching (re-bingeing?) Burn Notice and season 3 is full of Chris Vance being a sexy sexy British spy and you sigh and remember just how much he’s your absolute favorite H50 guest character (who deserves way more episodes).

I think I need more Danford fics.... or I should finish that sequel mcdanford fic.
