@sohrleas hallo! U asked about my silly little AU so here's a ramblefest for you and everyone. A very very big thank you for asking me about it I needed a tiny boost. Mc:dd still a HUGE wip, but I've written bits and parts about the Heros/skins/players
Divine Deviants is a Minecraft project I made a while ago that is focused around souls and religion/Hosts. In this AU, Heros are considered Prophets or Saints, as they have a direct connection to the Hosts by birth¹.
After the rise of the Illagers and the growing chaotic energy in the overworld, the Hosts decided to send down people to deal with man made affairs, and to guide people, so They Themselves can keep Their focus on the more natural parts of the world.
What differentiates Heros from other people is Their looks and Their hightened magical abilities. Unlike most Testificates, Heros are by average shorter and They can grow more hair. Other than that, They're quite the same.
And depending on the Host that created Them, They can have different gifts. But all Heros share hightened senses, hightened magical sensitivity and limited immortality². It's good to note that most of the gifts Heros have, Testificates can also have depending on their genetics and practice. (Stuff such as Hyperthymesia, a gift that many of Knowledge's Heros have.)
Divine Deviants's main plot is about Steve and Alex, two Heros who were born with soul oddities³, that are trying to "fix" Their abnormality.
(Tbh I haven' thought about it a lot. As I said it's still a big WIP. more info about steve n alex under read more.)
Alex: Due to a mishap on foresight's part, she was born without a soul. She's also the one most connected to foresight. Thanks to her connection, she's sometimes able to sense parts of the future. Mainly by sound or smells. This does make her partially depressed, specially when she knows she can't help change the future. (She wasn't supposed to have this gift however, it's the side effects of having a bit too much of a deity in you. I think Mother Foresight was drunk making her).
Her lack of a soul makes her more vulnerable to magic and sensitive spirits - an example is that she shouldn't come into contact with soul sand, as it drags her in and makes her body unstable (it was indeed learned the hard way). Allays and vexes also tend to hover around her more. I like to think some of alex's depression is caused by the constant use of soullessness in a negative light.
She's also married to Steve :)
Steve: Steve's the second soul anomaly, sitting on the opposite part of the spectrum from Alex: his body houses several souls. his anomaly is quite harder to clock as most of the souls are dormant in him, and he usually just has one soul active at a time. He's gifted when it comes to natural magic*, and he's also very warm to touch. he's considered the "leader" of the default 9 due to his mental strength. He's the second strongest physically, after Ari.
Thanks to the amount of souls in his body, he's less sensitive and doesnt get targetted by spirits much lol.
1: They are born of usually Testificate parents. Basically the Hosts are pulling virgin Mary shit on Tesificates except they're not virgins lol. Their physical differences get more obvious after puberty, when Their natural balding doesn't start - although it IS possible for testificates to keep their hair, it's a simple harmless genetic mutation.
2: limited immortality is what I call Their condition. They grow up normally, till the age They're "ascended". Then Their physical body locks at that age, allowing Them to live for how long They want. However this doesn't mean They can't die, They can die of sickness, or can be killed, etc. There's a lot of records of Heros dying.
3: Soul oddities, as their name suggests, are natural mutation of one's soul, or anything abnormal tbh. This board umbrella term includes many things, from having more than one soul in your body, to several people sharing a soul, to not having a soul in general. Unnatural mutations and oddities caused by magic are not counted. It's good to keep in mind that some types of oddities can cause different types of immortality, but true immortality can't exist for physical matter.
That's all I have for now. It's still a wip but here's the general idea. ty for the ask again :))
