Ibarra and Elias met and said goodbye on a boat on Laguna Lake,
While
Ibarra and Maria Clara met and said goodbye on the azotea of the latter's Binondo residence.
Elias and Maria Clara final scene was them acknowledging each other while they were on a boat an on the azotea respectively.
Something something about always being on the move vs. staying/waiting in one place.
Also, Ibarra will always follow Elias and leave Maria Clara before he returns for her later.
