4) Talk about your Apprentices’ self-esteem

Dahlia’s got a pretty good sense of self, as much as one can without remembering half of their life. They aren’t too overly concerned with their physical appearance (partly because whenever they leave the shop, their skin is covered so people can’t see them anyway). Their talents for backing/herbology lend themselves to Dahlia feeling good about themselves, they’re able to make a living at something they’re good at and something that they enjoy doing. 

When Nadia asks for their help they’re still like ‘what the fuck’ though because they’re not super proficient or even advertise their tarot reading services and their magic of choice doesn’t lend itself to mystery solving, so they just kinda go with it with the ideation of ‘alright pretty lady ill help you but i probably wont do you any good besides making you a mean monkey bread/tea combo when you realize i am not the person you’re needing me to be’

8) How does your apprentice express affection? Outwardly? More subtle-like?

Dahlia isn’t the most emotional person. They tend to keep their affectionate words for private places when they’re feeling warm and content with the person they’re fond of. When Asra would give them a date of his return, Dahlia would have a meal prepared of Asra’s foods waiting for him when he gets through the door, enchantments of healing and restoration placed in the spices of each dish. They like to show more than tell their feelings, giving gifts, usually magically crafted and home made, to people and try to make their gifts useful in some action, which is why they tend to make food for people because people need to eat don’t they. 

If they’re ‘forced’ to speak their feelings, it takes them a while to get it across, probably anxiety ridden moments for the one waiting to hear their affections, because they’re carefully pouring over their vocabulary for the proper words to use. 

When they remembered their native language, the ultimate show of their affection was when they spoke it to the person they cared about. They’d give nicknames to their beloved in their language and sing to them in it as well.
