Hey y’all! I’m hopping on here to address something that frankly needs to be addressed. I don’t want to name names because I feel like it’s easier to just talk about it this way and inform all members because I’ve had different people come to me about different things, but please keep in mind that when plotting you should be respectful of all members and to make sure you don’t come across as forceful or godmoddy.
Of course I think this is something we all could practice a bit better, all of our plots sort of intermingle with each other’s and sometimes we end up going to others for plots or even name drop them in our conversations. If you’re going to plot with someone make sure you’re nice about it and instead of pursuing it as “so and so should do this” which seems forceful if you don’t have a direct friendship with this member you can instead say something along the lines of “hey, i have a plot and was wondering if you’d be down?” and then explain said plot.
When it comes to name dropping in IC conversations, make sure what you’re saying about a character is 1) true and public knowledge. If it’s something that all characters would know then it’s fair game to use in conversations such as Nadia and Quinn’s fight, it happened at school so mostly everyone would hear about it in the halls, therefore, it’s available for anyone to discuss and 2) is if it’s an established plot. I’ll throw out another one of my character’s for example, but Mira’s character is that she’s not really a nice person which is common knowledge but she’s obviously nicer to other people and meaner to other people, so if she’s nice to Stacey one day and then she’s mean to Fallon it would be weird if the next day Stacey said “I don’t like Mira, she’s such a bitch” it wouldn’t make sense because Stacey’s never experienced this firsthand and probably wouldn’t think Mira’s mean (or at least to her). If you want to name drop a character in your conversation just make sure it’s something the player would be comfortable with because sometimes it’s weird to log on and see two people discussing your character about things that may not be true.
I hope this clears up any further issues and if not, I will have to start personally going to members (which I don’t want to do) so please be mindful of this and other members.
