Do you think the relation between Boy Witch and Porter in Shanghai can be different from it in NY? (For example, Boy Witch sings not 'Is That All There Is' but 'My Funny Valentine')

This a question that should be answered by someone who has seen both shows. I have not yet been to Shanghai.

So maybe they are new or maybe I just never noticed them before during the several dozen times I have been in the room but are the paper ships in the lobby cubby holes new? I noticed them during the porter's solo the other night. They are beautiful - I totally want one lol.

I don’t think so?  (Could someone else jump in on this one?) To be honest--I rarely take my eyes off the Porter. And it’s been a few years since I’ve really done a complete examination of the set. Maybe I should do that one of the days!

Looking at the cast lists, it looks like they need to add another Lady Macbeth or two as only Sarah, Ida, Taylor and Annie play the role regularly with fill-in support from Marla and Isadora. Out of the vets and newbies, who would you like to see step into the role to join the impressive women above?

Well…Tori Sparks is the obvious answer. I’d also love to see Ryan VanCompernolle tackle the challenge. And I think Stephanie Crousillat would be phenomenal. There are also several others who could a great job, and some of the new cast look really promising. I haven’t seen enough of them to be more specific.

Sorry this might be asked before - I am a student and I am wondering where is the student discount?

It’s just the word “student” in the discount blank.  And then you need to show your valid education ID when you pick up your ticket. It does not always work, so just try it and see.

A good reminder today...

...that sometimes we are all facing difficult things, and what gets posted on the internet is perhaps, just perhaps, done quickly and easily misinterpreted. Tone is difficult to communicate, and extending grace to others is a beautiful and useful thing to do.  I am certainly one of those who types quickly, and does not always communicate well.  

Assuming positive intent is helpful in most situations, I’ve found.

Have you ever followed Porter three loops?

Yes. Several times over the years. I’ve also followed Boy Witch for three loops a few times. If you find a performer to be engaging and you want to stay with them—then stay with them. It can be interesting to change your position and to get a different perspective by moving where you stand.

What do they use to make the fake blood? I want some for my theatre project.

If I were you, I’d google fake blood recipes and find one that has good reviews. The one at Sleep No More definitely uses chocolate syrup and some sort of coloring, but that’s all I know. This particular recipe is edible, since I’ve seen several people lick it off their skin. But I’ve heard that fake blood is a little easier to get out of clothes if there is a bit of dish soap added.

Again—I’d google it.
