When Your Home Office is a Closet (Literally)
Working from home sounded glamorous until I realized my "office" was a repurposed coat closet. My "desk" is a folding table. My "view" is a wall of winter jackets I refuse to admit I don’t need in Virginia.
I’d kill for a real workspace—one with walls and outlets and maybe even a door that closes. Enter: home additions in McLean. Mosaic’s page had a genius example of a garage conversion: same footprint, but transformed into a bright office/guest suite.
Now I’m obsessed with the idea of:
A tiny detached studio in the backyard (no more Zoom calls interrupted by dog barks)
A bump-out sunroom (because natural light = productivity, right?)
Or, if I’m feeling wild, a second-story perch with skylights
Realistically, this is a "maybe next year" project. But for now, I’ve at least cleaned out the closet. (And by "cleaned out," I mean shoved the coats under the bed.)
