McMarner is the ship that got me into hrpf in the very first place when I was a teen crushing on both of them during the draft 😂 I hadn’t thought about them in years but now I wanna go reread their stuff
So the 2015 Draft Class was just a thing when I was around in 2014-15 - I think I left fandom more or less when the draft happened? And I had friends who followed them but I was too old to be interested in spotty teenagers at the time (also I like my characters to have a few years of canon on them, see my utter disinterest in willmack despite whatever the hell it is they've got going on. Call me in 5 years.)
But the funny thing is now I'm an additional 11 years too old, but now it's RICH BACKSTORY to the grown up blorbos I'm into so NOW I'm here for the Dylan & Connor & Mitch stuff. Deeply ironic.
The two I've enjoyed the most thus far are both incredibly funny: @disarmd's Draft Class 2015 duo, which in addition to having a heart of gold and being hot as hell, has so many lines that had me cackling, like:
“I feel like it’s probably going to be fine,” Dylan said. “Like just to stop chirping you for a quick minute before we get back to normal, but you’re pretty good at sex, overall, in spite of all the ways that it seems like your personality would get in the way. You’ll probably do a pretty good job.”
And @tulakhord's Stag Night, which has a fantastic Mitch voice, excellent non-linear narrative, great use of bad sex, and the most incredible drunk character POV I've ever read.
