Gia. Her name is Gia and if I was guessing I’d say she’s either a disgruntled guest of the Moore or McArthur family given the yelling about it. Trust me kiddos, if you think you have skeletons in your closet? You should check out your parents’ but those are stories for another day.
If you have any other insightful info however I’m always ready and waiting to hear it.
I will tell you something she has in common with at least one McArthur though. She didn’t seem to mind being in close proximity to Danny McReid.
Can we just take a moment to talk about how radiant Jenny was at her mom's wedding?
We absolutely can talk about that. She was a real angel for the whole affair I must admit. The pink was very Jenny. Now, I know she had Jesse on her arm for most of the night but I am pretty sure that is not who she invited.
Then again, you have to keep up with the times. With Faye out the picture, why not move onto new and exciting things? Who knows? Maybe they pulled a Jasper in the coat closet.
The ‘McMoore’ of it all has really been taken a little too literally.
These Things Will Change || McMoore Wedding Drabble
The McMoore Wedding was supposed to be the most perfect day in the history of wedding days. It was supposed to go smoothly; the planning, the actual wedding, the reception. It was all supposed to be easy. Havensdale Valley was an incredibly small town. Sure, many bad things had happened there, but they were only so noticed because it was a small town. One or two animal attacks a month were really nothing when you compared them to the thousands that died every month in places like New York City, just one state over. So, the chances of something going wrong at this wedding were so little, so petite. Everything that was going on was being checked, and double checked, and then re-checked. But with everyone's attention focused on keeping out the vampires, or if a cake that high would really be able to hold its own weight, was it really a surprise that the McArthurs missed one thing?
You'd think with the size of the family one of them might have mentioned her; that one of them might have given Georgia McArthur a thought. To be fair, though, only three of them even knew of her. Steve, Derek, and Ethan shouldn't have been so naive (okay, so it was only common to expect such a slip up from Steve, but the other two should have been prepared). Ethan, the middle brother, had married first. At that point Gia was still a kid and they wedding was so small that Steve was the only sibling there. When Steve got hitched in Vegas, no one had even known (even Steve himself wasn't aware for days). So they had no mistakes to learn from, nothing to make them cautious. They went into the McMoore wedding blind and when things started to plummet, Ethan and Steve... well, they panicked.
"Did you really have to go with the blue suit?"
"Hey, your own son has one the same colour!"
"Jasper isn't in the wedding, moron."
"Wait, I'm in the wedding?"
Ethan dropped his head into his hand, resisting the urge to shake his older brother. When they had been younger, his idiocy had been such a source of amusement, but these days it mostly stressed him out. He was a grown man, surely he should have had some sense by now?
"You're a groomsman. How many times do we have to go through this? All you have to do is walk down the aisle with one of the bridesmaids and then stand at the front with Derek. Is that clear eno-"
"Excuse me?" He was cut off by a voice at the door. Ethan turned to see Jenny Moore in the doorway and his brow furrowed. She had only just been in to check on them, and she had never been one for politely grabbing their attention; at least not where the wedding was concerned.
"Hey, Jenny. Did you forget something?" It was Steve that spoke, Ethan was still eyeing her with suspicion.
"Yeah, um... Just one little thing..." She walked slowly into the room, each step taken with more deliberation than Ethan had ever seen on the young girl. "Do you know that you literally can't get into this building without an invitation? I flirted my ass off with that reverend out there and still nothing. It's like y'all are worried vampires are going to find a loophole or something." She tilted her head and Ethan's eyes narrowed, even Steve's mind seemed to have caught on to something not being right. "Do you know how long I had to wait for this precious little maid of honour to check on the gazebo? Because no other face would do, let me tell you. I've been trying to get in for the past hour which is just totally ridiculous when you consider the fact that I should have actually had an invitation to hand over."
Ethan had heard enough. He didn't care that this person was wearing the face of a sweet little girl, he had been a shifter long enough to be able to spot one when it was being so blatantly obvious. He grabbed her by the throat and slammed her up against the wall. "Who the fuck are you!?"
"Ethan!" Steve's mind might have been working for once, but it still hadn't caught up with his little brother's.
Fake Jenny only laughed, granted, it was a strained laugh, but it was still a laugh. "What? Don't you recognise me, Eth?" her head tilted again and her lips pouting in that familiar expression. He relaxed his grip just a little, allowing her heels to rest on the ground again. It couldn't be. The thing that scared him initially was that the expression hadn't made him think of his long lost sister, but of his daughter, Jamie. Even growing up without her aunt, she had still managed to pick up on her behaviour.
But no. There was no doubt in his mind that this was his baby sister. He hadn't seen her since she was eighteen, but this was her. No one else ever called him 'Eth'.
"Gia." His tone was soft, but his expression was hard. Steve's jaw dropped to the floor as Gia laughed and shifted back into her original form. She was a lot taller than Jenny was, tall enough to now be eye level with her brother.
"Aw you do still care!" she squealed, throwing her arms around Ethan. His hand dropped from her throat, but he didn't hug her back.
"Gia..." Quite honestly, Steve looked like he was about to cry, and he had good reason to. Their sister had always made it clear that she loved being a shifter- it was who she was and she was proud of that. So it was only natural that she had rebelled against their human father's wishes. Derek had rebelled too, but he wasn't smart about it. His defiance had gotten him shipped off to some boarding school in Ireland. Steve had taken the pills without too many questions- he had always been easy to manipulate. Ethan had wanted to defy the man, but he was scared. He had Felicity and he couldn't afford to be moved out of the country, so he obeyed, even following in his father's footsteps and studying the biomedical sciences. Gia though... she found a way around the pills. She stayed quiet about what she wanted and tried to keep the man happy. He hated all of his children so much for something that had been so out of their control and Gia hated him back just as much, but she was smarter. She had always been smarter.
When she was eighteen she had gotten out, but no one, especially not her brothers, could have ever imagined that she would kill thirteen people. That fact was clear to even Steve. To be able to shift into another human, you had to kill thirteen people. Their baby sister was a murderer. They knew she had gone a bit off the rails when she left, but this?
The only reason she hadn't been invited was because she would have blown their cover. See, the pills their father had given them had been to suppress their shifter abilities. He had developed it himself with the help of their mother. Help wouldn't be the word the siblings would use though. Their mother died from all of his experiments. All those unnecessary experiments that were meant to stop them being dangerous, but he could never understand that they had never been a danger.
The brothers had continued to take the pills even now. Either from fear of their father finding out they had stopped, or because they had people in their lives who they had been lying to for too long. Steve and Derek got pills shipped to them directly from their father, but Ethan knew how to make his own. Now that Derek was in Havensdale he had been getting his from Ethan too. And then there was Stella and the kids, now Lyndsy and Jenny. If Gia introduced herself as their sister, everyone they loved would know that they had lied to them. They would know they were shifters and not humans.
"Oh, Stevie! Don't cry!" She released Ethan and moved to her oldest brother, arms extended, but he backed away from her. "Stevie..."
"Gia, you need to go." Ethan's voice was hard again as he turned to his sister. "There was a reason you weren't invited and if you would just- just go find a hotel and we can talk after the wedding. Please, Gia."
The dark-haired girl's brow furrowed as she stepped back towards her favourite brother. "Eth... I'm sorry I showed up like this, but what other choice did I have? I never got to go to your wedding and- and I just-... I really missed you guys. I saw they ad in the paper and... well I thought you would be happy to see me."
"It's complicated." He wanted to say so much to her in that moment; about how he was happy to see her, and that he had missed her and loved her, and how he was so angry with her for killing so many innocent people, but the longer she stayed here, the hight the risk of people seeing her. "Please... We can talk tomorrow. Now... Get out."
For a moment, Gia genuinely did look hurt, but it was gone in an instant as her eyes narrowed. "Fine." Her jaw clenched in anger as she glared at the two of them before, finally, she left, turning into the form of another as she passed into the hallway.
*dabs eyes* Wasn't the McMoore wedding beautiful? You can of course continue your current conversations, and if there's anything you still need to do you can (don't worry). We just ask you refrain from making any new open starters at the wedding. You can however officially make post-wedding posts.
But maybe give the starter tag a wee look and see if there's anything you want to grab before the dust settles.
Additionally, you can still have your vampires be baby!vampires (original post here). There shall be a post next week letting you know when you can turn them back to normal (if you haven't already-- which is totally fine!). It's just with the two events running together you may not have had the time to do any of the baby!vampire things you might have wanted to do.
Gather round, gather round. Can you all see me? Can you all hear me? Good. Okay, ladies. My number is- -receives a glare from Jamie- I'm kidding. I'm kidding. If anyone wants my number, just come find me later. -winks before getting thumped on the leg by Derek-
Gah! Alright alright! Firstly, I just want to start by welcoming you all here to celebrate Best Man's Day. It was so nice of Derek and Lyndsy to get so dressed up for it. -pausing for laughter- But no, I feel really under pressure right now because Derek told me that if I do a really good job of this speech I can be the best man at his next wedding. -more thumping on the leg-
Okay, in all seriousness. Can we just take a minute to look at Lyndsy McArthur? I mean she's a vision, amiright? I'm sure all the men in here will agree with me that it's a sad day for single men everywhere because another beauty leaves the available list, and ladies... I'm sure you'll agree with me that today's passed by without so much as a ripple. -another thump on the leg-
You know, when I agreed to this, I did not agree to the child abuse. -laughing as he gets thumped again-
No, my Uncle Derek is great. He can be a bit moody at times, but when you've grown up in a house with Jackson you get quite used to all the glaring. Really though, Lyndsy, you look incredible today and my uncle better realise just how lucky he is. I don't know if you know this, but Derek was never really around much. We would get emails on occasion, birthday gifts, but his life was primarily in Ireland. If he hadn't met you, he would still be there- most likely alone in that dingy little bar... hotel... What even was that? -pauses for laughter- My point is... you brought him home. Family is a really important thing to us and having all of our family together again... well, it's been really amazing, so thank you.
Derek has always been really guarded. I've seen girls hit on him in the past and it's not pretty, let me tell you. His sarcasm and dry sense of humour are usually enough to send them running, but you stayed. You- You stayed. And I'm glad you did because- because yeah, you brought my uncle back home, but we didn't just get him; we got you and Jenny too. I've honestly never met a family like mine... so accepting, so... understanding of everything. They don't judge people for where they come from or who they know... what their bank balance is. You joined a really great family today, Lyndsy, and you belong here because you're just like them. You're good, and kind, and let's face it, anyone who can raise a ball of sunshine like Jenny has to be a ball of sunshine herself.
You and Derek are so fortunate to have found each other. I remember that day you guys met and... he came home with a smile on his face. Derek McArthur with a smile on his face. All of us were in shock, I swear. He wouldn't talk about you at first- only said that he'd be staying another week. Then that week became a month, that month became two, then suddenly he's bought his own apartment and shut down his business back in Ireland. Jamie- my sister, if you didn't know- actually followed him to the café one day. She sat in the back like the nosey little thing she is and listened to them talk for a full two hours. She was only thirteen and she comes into my room looking like Jesse McCartney had serenaded her and says "Jess, Uncle Derek's going to marry Lyndsy Moore." Of course, I told her she was insane, and I'm still waiting on an "I told you so", but what do you know? The kid has some killer intuition.
"Told you so!"
You sure did, Jamie. -laughs- But yeah, where was I?
I've seen the two of you together and... it's beautiful. It is. I mean, you have what we all want, right? -eyes totally locking on Faye- That person- that one person who's going to love you at your best and stand by you at your worst. Someone who doesn't judge you when you mess up, someone who loves all the things you hate about yourself, someone who can't even imagine their life without you... Someone to laugh your heart out with and someone to share your silence when laughing seems impossible.
We all want that... and it's a real shame because some of us might never find it, or worse... some of us might find it and lose it. -turns away from Faye to Lyndsy- I didn't know if it would be appropriate- so feel free to punch my leg again at any time, Uncle Derek- but I feel like someone needs to say it... We all loved Andrew Moore. He was a great man- a beloved man- and there's not a person in this town who could say a bad word against him, but there's also not a person here who wasn't praying that you would find love again. The fact that this idiot beside me was the one to make you really smile again is just a bonus, but I know that he's an amazing guy and you have no idea how much happier you've made him too. I mean... he gets to leave here today with a beautiful woman who practically radiates joy and... well, you get to leave with a new dress and a beautiful bouquet. -more laughter-
So hold on to each other, put each other first, and always cherish the moments you have together. Don't focus on the negatives for longer than you have to. Let yourself love with all your heart and never forget the vows you both made here today. Lean on each other's strengths and forgive each other's weaknesses. -eyes going back to Faye-
Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives you a fairy tale. Most people aren't aware that they're living in one, so I'm telling you now; this is a fairy tale. And if you do it right, you're going to have a happily ever after. -looking back to the couple- So whatever you do, don't eat the poisoned apple, don't trust creepy old ladies or step-parents- sorry Jenny, this is their happy ending, not yours. Time for you to live in the attic with your mice friends. -laughter- And trust that no matter how bad things get a talking animal is going to help you through.
So it gives me great pleasure to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses to Derek and Lyndsy, the new happy couple; Mr and Mrs McArthur. And if anyone put real champagne in my little sister's glass, I suggest you run now.
