Election Day
I love it when people tell me I'm wasting my vote on Evan McMullin because he won't win. Or when they tell me I should vote for someone who actually has a chance. Or when they tell me that voting for Evan is just going to put Hillary in office. Well first of all, your logic is flawed because the candidate still needs 270 electoral votes to be put in office, it's not "majority rules." So, even if my vote for Evan McMullin puts Trump behind Hillary, it won't matter if neither of them have 270 electoral votes. On the other hand, if Hillary DOES get 270 electoral votes, my vote for Trump wouldn't have stopped that anyway because Hillary still would have gotten 270 electoral votes, whether I voted for McMullin or Trump or my friend's pet penguin. That is precisely why we shouldn't vote AGAINST candidates, because it doesn't work. Furthermore, when people make comments like that, they are operating under the assumption that I AM voting AGAINST Hillary. Sure, I don't want her in the white house, but that's not what I'm saying with my vote. I am using my vote to tell our government officials what kind of leader I DO want in office, and that is a leader like Evan McMullin. Get out and vote today, please! No matter who you are voting for, you need to use your right to vote! Use your vote to tell the government what you want, not what you DON'T want!
