“Wait — are you the person I’m supposed to meet?”
- @mcolemanusher
It certainly isn't the person this Archivist had planned on meeting. That person was very unlikely to continue being much of anything for too much longer, given the Door they had walked through.
This wasn't the usual way that it played, orchestrating meetings like this. It liked a… hunt, but usually in the way of being just at the edge of someone's vision until it was too late. This was overt. It was very public and involved the use of its… newest appearance.
It wouldn't have bothered straying so far if it weren't at the very limit of its patience, its anger, its sorrow. It couldn't touch Gertrude Robinson, but that didn't extend to other Archivists.
"If it helps, I am very sure that you're the person that I wanted to meet," it says, with all of the sweet-faced charm Michael Shelley never knew to put to use.
