You stared out the window not paying attention to whatever your teacher was lecturing the class about. You were ready to go home but you were only in 4th period sadly. A wad of paper is thrown on your desk. It catches your attention. You look around to see who could’ve thrown it and you spot some girls giggling. Obviously it was them.

You open up the crumpled paper and see ‘WEIRDO’ written on it in bold letters. Typical. You tried hard for it to not get to you but for some dumb reason words always got to you. No matter how hard you tried they seemed to matter to you.

When the bell rang you headed to your boyfriend, Ray’s, locker. He was putting a few text books up. As you approached him you rested your head on him. “Hey!” He smiled while holding you close to him. “Wanna ditch?” You ask in a whispered voice. “…I dunno. I don’t want to get caught. That’s more of Mikey and Frank’s thing.” “Fine then I’ll ditch with them.” You joke. “N-No! Okay fine I’ll ditch with you.”

It wasn’t really hard. Ray freaked out a bit but you assured him things would be okay. When you got out the two of you went into the woods that was nearby. Before Ray you would often ditch to come here. This was your first time coming with him. “Are you okay?” Ray asked. He could tell something was up with you. You hadn’t skipped in a long time and you only did that when something was bothering you.

“Just something stupid happened.” “What?” He asked as you both stopped walking. “Just…Some dumb girls threw a note at me calling me a weirdo. It got to me a bit…” “You know that’s not true. And even if it was then I’d be a weirdo with you.” “I know it’s not true but my brain doesn’t agree with it no matter how many times I tell myself it. I’ll always be weird to them.” “If it makes you feel better me, Illi, Frank, and Mikey get told the same thing.” “No it makes me sad ‘cause I love you and care about them…” you said. “Empath.” Ray teases. “Mmm…” You groan.

Ray pulled you in for a tight hug. “I got you.” He whispers. “I’m here for you…I’m so sorry they were being rude to you, sweetie.” Ray kissed your cheek. “You’re so amazing. You’re the best girlfriend that I could ask for…” Ray kissed your lips. It wasn’t rough it was just perfect. “You’re the best…” You say while kissing him again.

After the kiss the both of you sat under a tree while listening to music on your iPod with shared headphones. Your hands laced with his. He whispered sweet nothings to you and his words meant way more than that dumb piece of paper. You were glad he cared.
