Tell It To The Marines (1926)… Bought this movie before heading to #sandiego for #sdcc2022. It’s a fascinating move to watch. Seeing this shot of the Santa Fe train depot was one of those “Whoa” moments. Having been by it many times and seeing the area around it. But seeing and comparing the area on 95 years later. Just amazing… The rest of the film were shot at Iverson Movie Ranch and a few scenes at #mcrdsandiego. USMC HISTORY: For the first time since opening in 1921, MCRD San Diego began integrated training of male and female recruits. Whether we agree or disagree with this move is not important because things change and this change is now a reality. This integrated training has been taking place for years aboard MCRD Parris Island, so let us not act as if this is a completely new concept. Remember folks: Those who are truly destined to become Marines will one day wake up in boot camp, while those who toy with the notion of becoming a Marine as if anyone can just become one, will continue to do just that.
