            sybill  didn’t  sleep  her  first  night  at  hogwarts ,  too  scared  of  the  letter  the  morning  would  bring .  she  knew  what  had  happened  to  her  cousin  for  being  sorted  into  slytherin  and  she  feared  the  same  fate ,  forgetting  in  that  moment  her  parents  would  hardly  cast  off  their  golden  goose .  sybill  has  cassandra  trelawney’s  gift  after  all .  and  this  wouldn’t  be  the  last  time  sybill  found  protection  in  her  lineage .

★ - sad headcanon

The only reason Rowan hasn’t been disowned yet is because it would bring shame to the family name. Her parents are aligned with the death eaters and strongly believe that anyone who isn’t a Pureblood is below them. Any Pureblood’s who disagree are tainted traitors. Rowan falls under that category. Her family has tried to keep it hushed that she doesn’t agree, and she’s stayed neutral on the topic to keep her family safe in her life. She’s had to be a watered down version of herself just so they can stand her presence. The words ‘I love you’ haven’t been said to her in almost 7 years. Her becoming a Hufflepuff wasn’t something they could hide from their Slytherin Alumn family and friends. Her brother doesn’t even treat her like he used to, though he still treats her the best. Rowan’s constantly teetering between pleasing herself and pleasing her family. She doesn’t know her place in the world.
