“Okay, wait, why do you have so many of the same squares?” She gestures to each spot featuring two parallel lines. “Kinda freaky. This why some people fantasize about twins? This the appeal? No such thing as too much of a good thing?” She rolls the paper up and uses it to gently swat each of their foreheads in turn. 

“I’m one person. You want a piece of this, you’re gonna do this the old-fashioned way: Rochambeau.” Her brows lift and lower. “Well? I’m waiting.” 

Cherry will not let it slip that Nora has a leg up over Logan on this one, solely because she’s definitely a hugger. On the other hand? A pathetic man is her ultimate weakness.

"Dunno how I feel about this one." She waves the idea away with a flick of her wrist. Light laughter bubbles up and shakes her shoulders. "What if one of us is a stellar liar? What if I played it so cool, you'd believe even the most bonkers lies?" It's not a risk that Nora has to worry about. Cherry's poker face won't help her in any tournaments now or in the future. It's as easy to read her as an excited puppy.

"See, it's that last part that kills. If you didn't doubt yourself? Would totally think you've played this game before, and it was a smash hit." She leans in, conspiratorial. "We can still play, if you want. Pretty sure we'll get nowhere, but like, that's life sometimes, right?"

𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒑𝒊𝒅   𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈   𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓   —   she's   sat   upon   the   steps   of   the   mortuary,   a   cigarette   between   her   lips   as   her   thumb   furiously   rolls   over   the   wheel   of   a   lighter.   one   more   light,   just   one   fucking   more.   but   it   doesn't   have   another   one   in   it.   it's   dead   and   gone.   it   causes   her   stop   and   think   for   a   moment   about   everything   else   that's   dead   and   gone.   everyone   else.   and   at   that   she   grows   even   more   irritated.   irritated   at   her   own   fucking   melancholy,   she   chucks   the   lighter   across   the   property   with   a   grunt.   fucking   useless.   it's   then   that   she   notices   logan.   he's   just   there.   standing   by   his   truck,   watching.   how   long   was   he   watching?   she   rolls   her   eyes,   averting   her   gaze   and   giving   the   back   of   her   neck   a   gentle   scratch. 

 he   keeps   quiet,   either   because   he   doesn't   know   what   to   say   or   because   he   doesn't   want   to   appear   nosy.   but   he   doesn't   walk   past   her   like   she's   expecting.   she's   trying   not   to   look,   to   appear   nonchalant   when   she   hears   a   flick   and   sees   a   small   light   in   his   direction.   it's   enough   to   draw   her   attention   and   bring   a   smile   to   her   red   lips   as   she   looks   up   at   him.   she   leans   closer,   still   holding   the   cigarette   between   her   lips   as   she   allows   him   to   light   her   up.   her   eyes   never   leave   his   face.   she's   intrigued,   her   expression   says   as   much.   ❛   𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑤'𝑠   𝑏𝑜𝑦,   𝑦𝑒𝑠.ᐣ   𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡   𝑠𝑒𝑒   𝑚𝑢𝑐𝘩   𝑜𝑓   𝑦𝑜𝑢.   𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑙𝑦   𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛'𝑡   𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒   𝑦𝑜𝑢   𝑓𝑜𝑟   𝑡𝘩𝑒   𝑠𝑚𝑜𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔   𝑡𝑦𝑝𝑒.   ❜
