Wake Up! Social Media represents horizontal integration!
In a excerpt from Tom Sandage’s, “Writing on the Wall - Social Media The First 2000 years” , mainly discusses how Marcus Tullius Cicero experienced the beginning of social media. The exchange of letters given to others, allowed a horizontal integration to take affect. “Horizontal integration is the acquisition of additional business activities that are at the same level of the value chain in similar or different industries.” Furthermore, today’s modern technology continues to further this concept by using applications like twitter.
From aggressive debates and vine compilations, twitter continues fully represent horizontal integration. One prime example is how everyone can leave a reply amongst others post, and then eventually (depending how many followers they have you may or may not obtain a response. Everyone is considered equal on the app, instead other applications that continue a range of class. Thats exactly how horizontal integration is all about.
