         nate has to withhold a snicker as he looks at mat fondly,  leaning his cheek against his free hand while his other twirls a pen.   mat’s crush on stephanie is far too obvious,   &  if it were anyone else,  it’d make nate want to puke.   but because it is mat,  his best friend for years,  he’ll suck it up as he has to watch him make heart eyes at the girl across the room.
