"Happy - Happy -" he stumbled to a stop next to the man, well aware of everything that was going on around him. "I need to - tag out - for a minute -" he was breathing with difficulty, wheezy gusts, "Can you tell - them I'll be - back - in a bit?" he put an arm on his chest, able to feel how the fabric had moved whilst he was being an idiot.

"Okay, I know what you're gonna say! I know, I know -" he swung down and leapt lightly off the strand of web, coming to a stop in front of Happy, whipping off his mask so his friend could see his face as he held out his hands in a half-gesture of surrender. "I know, I know, I wasn't meant to get involved, you guys had it handled and I was meant to stay out of the way," he realised he wasn't exactly making his case as he stuttered off the end of the sentence.

"Look, it's - I - I - okay, so, yeah, I broke - I broke the rules, but it was for good reason! You couldn't've taken that down without me!" he gestured at the collapsed monster that was currently being dealt with. He became aware of a low heat in his side, trying to ignore it. "I got everyone out of there and I helped take it down! I'm useful, so - you can't tell me off -" he grimaced, looking down and seeing the quill that was sticking out of his side, leaking blood. Ah.

          she   hadn’t   hesitated   to   let   him   in.   she   knew   now   that   there   were   many   things   she   didn’t   know .  .  .  and   she   was   working   hard   to   accept   that.   peter   had   come   home   more   times   than   she   could   count   with   cuts   &   bruises.   as   a   woman   with   questions   constantly   locked   &   loaded   on   the   tip   of   her   tongue,   she   was   also   learning   when   to   ask   questions   and   when   to   just   listen.   she’d   filled   a   glass   with   water   to   offer   him   with   this   very   battle   raging   in   her   mind.   it’s   a   comfort   to   her,   ironically,   when   he  thanks   her   for   keeping   her   mouth   shut.       ❛ you’re   always   welcome   here. ❜       she   assures,   placing   the   glass   in   front   of   him.   the   next   question   that   leaves   her   lips   is   unavoidable,   however.       ❛ what   can   i   do   to   help?   are   you   okay? ❜
