What is the origin of your blog name? I started using "Missy Diabolical" as an online handle in my teens in the early 00's. Stopped being a missy and started being a themmy, changed a single letter, bon apetit.

What's your "I will always order this" food? Shawarma, Tteokbokki, Butter chicken curry. If a place did all three i'd have a crisis. And then order all three lmao. Hopefully getting tteokbokki tomorrow and I am already excited.

What's your overused emoji? 🥰 closely followed by 😅

What's your current comfort show/movie/book? I'm really enjoying Fallout, pleasantly surprised by that. As it was just christmas we decided to rewatch the Vicar of Dibley and do the christmas specials on christmas day, that was a good nostalgia hit. And my always watch every week without fail "show" on youtube is Novympia.

Song you've had on repeat this week? Hmm I go through binges where I listen to lots of music and then nothing. This week was a nothing week so let me see what the last songs I added to my 'vibes to draw to' playlist was:

What's the last thing you hyperfixated on? Games wise it's Sea of Thieves (i'm trying to get a whole lot of achievments) Slime Rnahcer 2, a Mass Effect 1 replay and Cloud Gardens which i've already played through fully before but it's such a great vibe i'm doing it again. I've been in a drawing slump the last couple months but I have a couple WIP's and i'm hoping they'll bite again soon, hormones and fatigue can really affect that but I feel like it's coming back round. And i've been filling in a daily diary which I haven't done in yeeeears, i'm enjoying the routine and organisation of it.

What's an oddly specific thing that brings you joy? Well organised modlists and speadsheets for achievements/game goals etc. Sometimes I get hyped to play a game only what i'm actually hyped about is prepping it with mods and ini changes etc. and not actually the game itself 😅I've been meticulously updating and organising my sims 2 mods folder since the game came out 20 years ago even though I've barely played it in years. That's my emotional support 12GB mod folder. Seeing my spouse in a cosy dressing gown never fails to make me happy. They look so comfy and it makes me go yay 🥰 cosy spouse. If they are walking past my desk in it I stop them and demand a cuddle.

What smell instantly makes you happy? Coffee and cake when you walk into a bakery/cafe

What's something you loved as a kid that you secretly love now? I don't think I bother keeping any of it secret! I like 'childish' food like chicken nugs, I like wearing bright silly and goofy things, and doing arts and crafts.

What's your phone wallpaper right now? I barely use my phone, to me it really is just a device to send occasional texts or calls from. The damn thing goes out of battery and I don't notice for a day or 2. So it's just a default one, the pride rainbow that came with it. I'll be honest, i'm not I even know how to change it without having to check a tutorial lmaooooo. My desktop wallpaper is currently the one where Shepard is looking out the portal at the start of the series, only there's steam on the window and she's drawn a dick and written hi next to it.

Are you a morning person, night owl, or something else entirely? I am a person with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), non 24 sleep wake disorder and other chronic conditions that massively disrupt sleep to a majorly life affecting and disabling degree. But I suppose you could say more night owl in the sense that it's really, realllly hard for me to get up and get going and i'm more likely to get things done when I've been awake for a few hours, which is usually night?

Lastly, if you work, what is your work profession? And do you like it? I am disabled and medically retired. I was a veterinary nurse specialising in emergencies and critical care.

I've seen there's posts going round saying you need to delete all your art from tumblr, right now! This very second! Because it's gonna get scraped for AI!!! And I totally get anyone who does delete their stuff to avoid that, or at least deletes the old stuff and reuploads with glaze or nightshade But I dunno, I've reached the point where I feel like all these companies (the AI creators, and the social media sites etc.) are so blasé about your data, so out of any fucks about privacy and personal ownership and only care about £$ line go up, that it's probably all been scraped a thousand times already?! Tumblr's move will certainly make this even easier and more likely, but, whenever I post anything online anymore I am under the full belief that this is gonna get taken and used by anyone who wants to already 🤷‍♂️ Perhaps that is a negative mindset, but I dunno guys, it feels like the damage is largely already done and deleting all my art at this point will only serve to make my life less fun. On a more positive note, the kind of people that are running AI are ridiculous tech bros, the exact types that ran nft's and various other hair brained schemes straight into the ground, so there's hope there too. If AI was being developed seriously as an actual tool for artists to use it's one thing, and I think there could be legitimately interesting uses there. but the current state of affairs with the rampant theft and fuck you get mine attitude ignoring any copyright laws in their path, it could easily all crash and burn a couple of lawsuits later. Or people will just get bored and move on. In the mean time yes, it is doing real damage to artists, not arguing that. Just saying as negative as my attitude to this situation is, I also have hope that it may not be the all out artistic apocalyptic event some predict. But as it stands now, I feel like everything online is 'free real estate' to these people, no matter what checkboxes you ticked or watermarks you added, or new policies dickhead CEO's add to their social media sites. To be clear: It shouldn't be this way, it fucking sucks, and by all means delete your stuff if you feel it necessary. I don't plan to at the moment. I do have glaze set up for future posts. Anyway just my thoughts on the matter at the moment. Anyone else feel this way? Or, if you are deleting your stuff now, what are you going to do going forward? New websites/come back and repost with glaze/other?

I struggle so hard with art tutorials and making them work for me. I find that they often talk in this very artsy, abstract kind of way that my brain finds really unhelpful. Coupled with a difficulty in forming 3d shapes in my head (and especially in rotating them) I found that a lot of tutorials just left me more confused and upset than before. My neurodivergent need for clear and structured step by step procedures does not fare well with a lot of art tutorials either. That flowery poetic art speak became even more of a problem when I decided to tackle gesture. I watched so many videos, you guys. I felt like I was going nuts, it was just NOT clicking at all. And then I found this one.

When I tell you before this, there is no way in hell I would have been able to make those 3d boxes, but after watching this it was like someone flipped a switch in my brain. Is this perfect? no of course not. But before I relied on painstakingly copying a reference pose focusing on the outline, where now I feel like I might be able to adapt those poses for myself, or at least just have a better understanding of the how's and why's of that pose instead of just copying and hoping it reads right.

Anyway, I thought i'd share, in case anyone else might have struggled with this problem themselves and find this useful. p.s this one by proko about filling in the gestural shapes was also helpful.

soul crushingly devastated right now. Had to do a total fresh reinstall of Mass Effect and all mods due to some driver issues. And now i'm reinstalling the mods, both the Breather for Thane for LE2 and the Thane as Kaidan mesh swap mod for LE3 have been hidden. Big sadge. Pain 😭😭😭 (Thane lives doesn't currently support gay romances so isn't a viable alternate for me unfortunately) And like, I can bet the reason they've been taken down is because people were being entitled stupid arseholes in the comments or whining about compatability problems that had already been explained a million times over. I totally understand why these things dissapear. But yeah, just massively bummed out right now.
