Lisa Russell is an Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker and new media producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Together with Maya Azcena, she developed www.MDGFive.com, an interactive website that unites artists & activists around maternal health. We interviewed her while she is working on her first short narrative film based on the real life story of two indigenous girls in the highlands of Guatemala who challenged their elected officials to provide more services to adolescents in their community.
