“…..”
There’s a tint across the Primarch of Dawn’s cheeks as she remains situated nearby. Even after all this time, years upon years of practicing this tradition, the young woman inevitably still finds herself feeling those butterflies fluttering in her stomach. How can Tessael help herself, not when Siegfried always gives such a sincere response even if his choice in words isn’t always the best?
As well as that, the dream she had the night prior–While it hadn’t concerned him, it had caused her to recall when it was that she even began practicing the yearly ritual of presenting hand-made chocolates to another, in particular towards the one she held dearest in her heart. A part of her couldn’t help but to think upon her creator, and to realize that the intensity of her feelings for the Dragonslayer was not so different.
“…Siegfried…”
His name leaves her lips as a mumble, so lost in thought that she fails to realize the man’s already opened the door until she finally looks up again moments after. It’s enough to make her face burn from embarrassment, before she’s hurriedly holding out the modestly wrapped box of chocolates.
“–Here. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
He’s been in the kitchen for a while; fifteen minutes at most as she finishes up the chocolates. Each year came with new surprises and more an expectation. Not of what she could create – anything Tessael made was a delight – but of what she would try to accomplish. It seems this year his stealth has gone up slightly. She would always catch him coming in, even as she threatened him not to. (In a way that even Siegfried couldn’t take her seriously. She was too cute when she was pouting.)
Leaning against the doorframe, brown hues watch her to-and-fro for some more wrappers. The smell of the chocolates was strong. It’s not the usual combination, perhaps caramel and something else? Was there a filling to some? The questions continued to come until he heard his name. Moving away from the frame, he approaches her side. Was something on her mind? Her face is completely red. From this angle, he can’t but remember how she first tried to make him Valentine’s Day chocolates when they began their courtship.
While it didn’t go completely as planned, he enjoyed what she made her.
“Tessael.”
He replied to her call out of habit. A soft smile raises upon his lips as she comes out of her thoughts, face turning from red to dark red. Ah, she really was lost in her thoughts. Looking down at the box, he couldn’t help the chuckle that came out.
“Thank you.”
Opening the box, he reaches in to take a bite of one. Part of the chocolates sticks out past his lips as he enjoys the bittersweetness melting in his mouth. It wouldn’t be a secret tradition of his if the first was not shared with her. While there weren’t any words used to exchange his thoughts, calloused fingers come to cup her face. His thumb brushed over her lips, pulling down on her bottom lip. A silent question for her to part with them so they can share her hard work. From the look on his face, he’s enjoying this year’s chocolates too.
