On that day that our teacher announced that one of our transfer tasks this quarter is dramatic monologue, I was shocked because I never had any experience doing one. We were given more than two weeks to memorize our piece. My classmates and I always recite our piece during lunch time and that’s the reason why it became easier for me to memorize each and every line with the help of everyone. Time flew so fast but I still forgot some lines during practice with our teacher. We were scolded because our teacher gave us enough time to memorize but we wasted it instead of memorizing. We formed a group and instead of mastering our pieces, we tend to talk about something that is not related with that subject. The lesson that I learned that day was, “I must not waste time and chances”. Few days passed by and it was already the day of our presentation. We were busy cleaning that day when it was already 8:30 in the morning and we were not yet dismissed but some of our classmates already went for a break. Our adviser was really disappointed with us because we disobeyed some of his rules and did not clean the area very well. I learned a lesson again that day and that is, compliancy. After thirty minutes our teacher, Ms. Jenny Rose Arenas already came in our classroom because it was already our time with her subject but we were still wearing our school uniforms. She gave us five minutes to prepare for the presentation and every one of us were already rushing. The presentation have started and everything were settled. After an hour it was already the time for Mikhaela to perform and I was next to her. The bell rang and that means that the break time for grades 9 and 10 students are over. I was not yet ready to perform but I was already called by our teacher to perform. While I was arranging my props, jumbled thoughts came into my mind. I became nervous. During my performance, my nervousness became more intense but I still continued. I felt so shy because I saw Ate Joira at the entrance door watching and we all know that she is very good in speaking and that was the reason why I was motivated to finish my presentation very well. I know that God is watching me and continuously guiding me. As I continued with my performance, I felt confident when I saw smiling faces of my classmates and teacher in the audience area. And finally, I was done with my performance. Thanks to God, it was a successful one. It is one of the best opportunities given to me. A person will get to know more about the true meaning of life and its challenges if he or she will perform in front of many people. The grade that I expected was at a range of 30 to 39 but unexpectedly, I got 45! It was already a high score for me. I am very much thankful to God because He was there to guide me during my performance. It’s one of the most unforgettable moments that I’ve ever had. And with that, my self confidence has been more developed. The lesson that I learned after my presentation is “I must just focus on what I’m doing”.
