The auction sale of stock at Os. Cruickshank’s last Monday [Apr 10] was a lively affair. Cows and sheep brought fancy prices. Everything went way up.

Times are very monotonous in the Grant, at present. Most all the men are in the woods, lumbering, but as it is near Xmas, we expect livelier times, pie socials, concerts, etc.

La prairie farm presented a pretty spectacle on Friday of last week [Aug 16]. There were seven mowing machines running in the meadow and a self binder in the grain field all busy finishing up the haying and harvest on the fine old farm.
