Landschap

The term landscape architecture was first used by C. L. Meason in 1828 to describe depictions of architecture in landscape paintings and firstly written in a John Loudon's edition of the writings of Humphry Repton, the first practitioner in England to write theoretical text about the subject. The term landscape in turn is an anglicization of the Dutch word landschap.
