The Meat Blockade

An ongoing series of title cards for a surreal comedy horror podcast. Struggling writer Karl Berenger cannot catch a break. Whether he’s lost in a city, trying to talk to his crush, or evading the clutches of a nefarious manager, he somehow keeps trucking along after losing his so-called best friend one crazy night. I illustrated all title cards from initial layout concept sketches to the final digitally painted pieces. Creating the character designs, playing with chiaroscuro, working with bold and quirky color palettes, and playing with camera angles made illustrating these pieces a joy.

It’s great. It has excellent voice acting, and there are only 3 episodes to date, so it’s easy to catch up. It has a surreal, film noir vibe, with plenty of comedy and interesting characters to keep you invested. If you’re a fan of Welcome to Night Vale or Kakos Industries, I highly recommend it.
