So I was talking with a friend about having to get the garbage and recyclables ready to put out tomorrow (as one does) and remarked about how there was some meat in the fridge I better divide up for freezing tonight. The reason being that non-recyclable garbage only gets collected every second week here (tomorrow being one of those days), and while most non-recyclables is stuff that doesn’t start to decompose and get stinky, those absorbent pads used to line meat trays very definitely do.
Except I unthinkingly referred to them by the term I mentally identify them as, which is “meat diapers”. She figured out from context what I meant, but... it had me wondering what terms other people use for them. So if you call or think of them by a term other than “absorbent pads”, do please respond.
