this might be a long shot but do any of you know stuff about mechanical engineering? in my AU fic, I want human!Rocky - who's building the ship - to go off on a rant about all the tiny contingencies that could go wrong (if not explicitly planned around when constructing the Hail Mary), leading to the ship's destruction and/or the crew's untimely deaths.

unfortunately, I don't know enough about machines or engineering in general to decide things like "if this pipe bursts it's fine but annoying, if that pipe bursts everyone in a 50 foot radius will die"
