I need more of Up All Night in my life. Didn't realize how much I missed. 😊
Never fear! I’ve already received a request from @hartnellss and I plan on working on it after I mail in a job app in a little bit. :D(Stupid tumblr app won’t let me tag you, but I figured I’d publish this in case I got more.)
Your posts are making me ship shandy! I was a huge Closer fan and loved Brenda x Fitz. Shandy seems like bd 2.0! Love it! Haven't watched but a few eps of MC though. You are making me want to. Lol
Hiii :) Lol You’re not the first one telling me this. I’m glad I’m making you guys ship Shandy haha You’re welcome ;P
I was a Closer fan myself. Loveddd the show and when I learned about the spin off I knew I had to watch it. It’s the same cast, same amazing writers, and the fabulous Mary McDonnell.
Sharon’s character is amazing and Shandy is a beautiful developed relationship. As a Closer fan yourself you know Sharon, of her relationship with Andy and the rest of the squad. She’s so much better than what we thought of her. She’s amazing! You’ll fall in love with her character. Her relationship with Andy, Rusty and the squad and how they grow and develop through the seasons is a beautiful thing to watch. Do yourself a favor and watch this show!!! Lol You’ll love it! I’ve seen Major Crimes from ep 1 and it’s Amazing. Just as good as the Closer.
Just smth, Shandy are the Brenda and Fitz of MC but their relationships are so different. Shandy is a very slow burn, and while it’s important doesn’t have the same screen time as Brenda and Fitz. You’ll see why if you watch.
Any chance the birthday party(Roland's) M&M's girls were at in that future pdpb Drabble was a Locksley/Mills child??? ;) bc honestly, pdpb mm and pulse points rr would get along perfectly...
You bet your bottom dollar that it was Roland Locksley’s party that Belle and Anna were attending, although I hadn’t been thinking of the Mills/Locksley clan in Pulse Points verse. I’m planning a cross-over drabble for those two families very soon, and I’m so excited about it! I’m combining two prompts to make these families neighbors (obviously not in SB, although it would be kind of hilarious to watch Belle and Anna’s reactions to all of the magic that happens in that community. ;)
At the moment, I’m trying to finish the next chapter of PDPB, and then the next installment of Her verse. I know I promised The Nightwatch, but PDPB has been screaming at me, and I’ve decided to focus in on it and just finish it before I focus on another DA fic. I’m doing the same thing with Pulse Points for my OQ readers--going to work on diving in and completing it before I refocus on my other mc fics for that pairing. So hopefully those two universes will be complete in the very near future. Then I’ll tackle The Hungover Games and Dustings of Truth.
When I say this, I am excluding drabbles and drabble verses, for those are much easier to write and help me refocus when moving from one fic to another. So those will continue in between multi-chapter fic updates. I hope this makes sense, lol! :D
As always, I love hearing from you, my friend. Hope your Thursday is great!!! Miz Rose and I are sitting her in my family room writing away. :D
Thanks for sharing another ATWFL sneak peek with us. I'm sure it takes a lot of time working through all of your fics and they are all so wonderful. I really appreciate that we get little peeks at stories. I love this ATWFL/BD RR so much and just wanted to stop by and say how much I appreciate all of your writing for it even when it's not the main focus right now. I'm really enjoying BIn too and lookforward to seeing how it goes :)
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying everything, and hope you continue to as the stories go on. :)
Angst: She has never felt so helpless as she does at this moment, watching as he is rolled away from her into a room she cannot enter, a room without magic but with doctors who say his odds are 50/50, feeling her own heart crack open even as an incision is made into his chest to repair the very organ she of all people should be able to save.
AU: She wakes in large bed she doesn’t recognize, one more opulent than the one in her Vegas hotel room, a warm torso dusted with hair spooned against her backside, a hot palm on her breast, her head now pounding all the harder as she wonders what in hell happened last night…Shit—he’s wearing a ring….oh, God…so is she!
Crack: Her eyes gleam as her senses real, taking in the primal scent of this man in front of her—this man making her feel things her kind shouldn’t feel, especially for his breed…Wolf, she spurns, her heart pounding even as her thighs overheat at his nearness…Undead siren, he counters just before she pushes him against a wall and takes what she has wanted since they met.
Future fic: He shouldn’t even speak to her as lovely as she is, this unwelcome impostor in his bland and useless existence, for what in God’s name would she ever see in him if he did—he, a washed up has-been whose sole companions are alcohol and the sea?
First Time: It is the shy trust on her face that nearly breaks him as she steps out of her silken panties, standing naked and transparent before him, her lashes fluttering as if he were the first man to see her like this—uncovered, unhindered, and unguarded in every way…and he realizes then that he is.
Fluff: She can’t let anyone, especially Emma, discover her secret, the flowers from her wedding bouquet she has carefully pressed and saved, and she slides the box full of sentiment hastily under the couch before standing to open the door, staring over her shoulder to make certain no one will spy her hidden treasure.
Humor: He presses a button, and the contraption vibrates in his hand, making him examine it in confusion, it’s shape somewhat obvious but utterly absurd, he thinks, that is until he spies the look of abject horror on Regina’s face as she walks into their bedroom, her eyes nearly popping out of her head at the device he holds in his grip.
Hurt/Comfort: Too soon after their daughter’s birth, the doctor had explained in hushed tones, her body not yet ready to carry another child, her womb not prepared to take on another pregnancy just yet, but she’s empty and hollow, a bruised shell of a woman whose heart is being held together solely by the gentle touches and shared tears of the man she believes now breathes for both of them.
Smut: There, just there, she thinks, pressing down, clasping his shoulders, biting her lower lip as waves lap and crest, the magic of bodies joined and souls merged pushing her over a cliff she spirals down in mad circles, his name falling from her lips as he continually worships her breasts, his heat exploding inside her with the force of a hurricane.
UST (Unresolved Sexual Tension): He tugs his sopping tunic over his head, thankful for the deserted barn as his pants follow suit just before a sound startles him…a woman…gods, a beautiful woman, no more than an arms length from him, standing alone in the storm darkened shelter…her long, dark hair sodden and dripping, her nipples pressing through silken fabric of her shift…
I have missed AOA greatly but I know that doesn't technically count ;) how about AG vs the redhead!!!??? I have missed your writing so much!
I’ve been waiting to finish this one! So sorry it took so long For you, dear, and palindrome310, as well as everyone who's been waiting eons for this one. Hopefully more to come...
Enjoy!
Agent Grantham vs. the Redhead, part 3 |1|2|
God, she was jealous. So much so that it was moderately embarrassing, at least in her head. The look in Matthew’s eyes at the scream was a mixture of fear and something else she couldn’t quite place. She hated that look of concern. It was too much like love.
Lavinia’s scream cut through the silence of the hall again and Matthew darted forward, racing past Mary, but she matched his stride. She easily followed despite her high heels, sprinting as he barreled down the hall.
"Matthew, stop!" Mary demanded, grabbing his arm and pulling him into a side hallway. He struggled to break away, but Mary shoved him against the wall, both breathing heavily.
Her arm pinned his shoulders to the wall with more strength than he expected, Matthew’s eyes slightly frantic as he steadied his breathing and fixed his gaze on Mary.
"Matthew, you won’t be able to help Lavinia if you blow your cover! If you want to see her again, you have to let me take the lead on this."
He stared at her for a long moment, leaning against the wall. Mary didn’t step away from him even though he made no effort to move, no struggle against her grip.
"Stop saying things like that," he said suddenly.
"Like what?" she asked, dumbfounded.
"I’m not in love with love her."
"I never said you were," she breathed, her heart pounding against her chest. Blood rushed in her ears as they stared at one another, Matthew eyes softening, but his breathing still ragged, as though struggling to hold something in.
"Mary," he began, touching her neck, his fingers tangling in her hair, "you have to know—"
"This isn’t the time," she insisted, wishing they could be anywhere else but there, wishing they could truly be alone.
"Just let me say it," Matthew insisted as his thumb brushed across her cheek. Her heart pounded hard and leaned his forehead against hers, causing Mary to such in a ragged breath. "Mary, I—"
Another scream cut through the near silence once more and Mary was the one to pull away. She grabbed Matthew’s hand.
"Come with me," she said, tugging him after her.
They raced down the hall, slowing as they reached the back stairwell.
"Mary—" Matthew began, but she shushed him quickly.
They listened for half a minute, pulse still pounding in Mary’s ears and making it difficult to detect noise on the other side even with her ear pressed to the metal door. Matthew’s fingers brushed against hers, causing Mary’s breath to hitch again.
“Where did they go?” Matthew breathed, his head turned away as he kept an eye on the corridor.
She strained to hear, nearing footsteps on the other side of the door causing her to pull Matthew away to hide in a nearby utility closet. With the door shut, both leaned against it, their bodies pressing together in the rather cramped space.
"Is it Lavinia?" Matthew questioned, his breath hot against Mary’s ear.
"Quiet," Mary whispered, listening as two pairs of footsteps halted near the closet.
"God, you didn’t have to scare me like that." It was Lavinia’s voice. Her breathing was heavy, but she sounded unharmed, if a little rattled. “Why do you always want to meet in such spooky places anyway? Haven’t you heard of a cafe?”
"Public places aren’t safe." A man spoke now, a note of laughter in his voice. "But you need to keep me posted on that woman—"
"She said her name was Mary Carmichael," Lavinia said.
Despite the near-darkness, Mary could feel Matthew’s gaze trained on her, his fingers tightening their grip around her wrist. Fire sparked through her wrist, melting the chill that had settled in her wrist at the sound of her name.
"Sounds fake," the man said. "Where’s she from?"
"England? I don’t know where. She said her grandmother lives in NYC though, knows Matthew from his business trip to London. I wouldn’t be worried about her, except she looks like she’s hiding something," Lavinia said.
"And she knows Matthew?" the man asked.
"It’s what he said. Do you think they have a history?" Lavinia questioned. "I mean, we’ve only been going out for a few weeks, so it’s not like we’ve shared every intimate detail of our sexual history yet."
The man chuckled. “Well, don’t tell him about me,” he said softly, as though he was standing close to her.
"I don’t think he’d like the fact that you spent the night in my room," Lavinia said. "Last night."
"Probably not. But keep an eye on the girl. We know the CIA has people after your father, among others. He has to stay safe." The man paused and Mary heard the sound of a kiss on the other side of the door. "You have to stay safe.”
"Well, keep me that way," Lavinia replied, her voice gentle. "But I should get back. Matthew was dancing with Mary—I don’t want him to worry about me. Although I should probably rinse your cologne off me."
"I’ll see you later," the man said, another kiss passing between them before their footsteps receded in opposite directions.
In the closet, neither Mary nor Matthew spoke, the silence deafening after all the noise of the past few minutes.
"You okay?" Mary finally breathed, realizing they’d need to get out of the closet soon if Lavinia was going to return to the ballroom.
"Fine," he said, although his fingers were sweaty against Mary’s wrist. "At least now I know she’s playing me. I guess it’s only fair."
"At least your cover isn’t blown," Mary said. "Apparently mine’s close."
"Perhaps your new cover could be that we had a fling in London and you’re…still in love with me?" Matthew asked. His velvety voice moved closer, causing Mary’s heart to race.
She cleared her throat. “A little close to the truth, isn’t it?” Mary questioned, shifting so her free hand rested on the front of Matthew’s jacket, her thumb tracing across the collar.
"Is it the truth?" Matthew asked, his serious face clearer now that her eyes had adjusted.
Mary looked up at him for a moment, reaching her hand up to stroke his cheek, feeling a sense of urgency as the seconds ticked by. “We don’t have much time, Matthew—what were you going to say earlier?” she whispered, her voice shaking slightly.
He smiled with a sincerity she hadn’t seen in months, something missing in his smiles for Lavinia.
"Mary, I love you," Matthew murmured, releasing her hand to pull her waist closer. He sighed in relief, his smile widening as he leaned his forehead to hers. "Do you know how long I’ve waited to say that?"
"At least as long as I have," she said, running her thumb across his cheek. "When we kissed in Berlin—"
"Longer than that," Matthew said. "Ever since you took out that assassin in Minsk."
Mary felt dazed, something she never allowed herself to experience until Matthew. “I’m so sorry I left,” she told him. “Honestly, I thought it would be better, but it wasn’t.”
"It was hell," Matthew breathed, his breath hot against her lips as he came closer. “I never stopped thinking about you—dreaming that you’d come back.”
Mary smiled, her first real smile in months. They gazed at each other for another moment before Matthew’s lips touched hers. He kissed her hungrily, with a power she matched in full despite their care to be as quiet as possible, lest anyone pass by outside.
"God, I love you," Mary told him, pulling away after too little time and yet too much. She rested her cheek against his shoulder, wishing the moment could last longer, but she knew Lavinia would head back to the party at any second, looking for Matthew and Mary. “We need to go,” she told him.
“Wait,” Matthew said, kissing her hastily. “I just needed to do that again.”
Mary found herself grinning. “You go first. We can meander over to each other later, make some more chit chat.”
"You’ll act like you’re in love with me," he replied, smiling wide.
"One bit of truth," she said. Mary pulled away, listening at the door for any noise. "It’s clear. Go distract Lavinia and I’ll sneak back in."
Matthew kissed the tip of her nose. “Alright. But don’t think I’m going to let you get away again.”
Mary chuckled. “I should hope not.”
With one last smile, Matthew slipped out the door, Mary listening in silence as he made his way down the corridor until his footsteps disappeared. After a few moments, Mary exited the utility closet, her heels clicking unnervingly loud as she headed for the ballroom.
Meeting no one, she returned to the party, her eyes quickly finding their way to Matthew and Lavinia. They were dancing, to Mary’s surprise, so she made her way to an empty table, grabbing a glass of champagne on the way without drinking any of it.
"Mary, isn’t it?"
At the sound of this familiar voice, the man’s voice she and Matthew had heard outside the closet, she looked up.
"Yes," she said slowly, eyeing the dark-haired man. "Do I know you?"
"No, not yet," the man said, sitting in the seat by her side. The man offered her his hand. "I’m Evelyn Napier."
