Today Polish independent media outlets are doing a blackout to fight for the right of free press. Polish ruling right wing party, PiS, is planning to tax ads sustaining free media with an excuse of fighting COVID-19. Such tax will heavily cut into any profits free media outlets make, bringing down many of them, effectively leaving only government-sactioned outlets, full of hate speech, lies and right-wing propaganda. Please support Poland in their fight using hashtag #MEDIABEZWYBORU (MEDIAWITHOUTCHOICE).

The only available media today are belonging to the current government. Coincidence?

I usually don't watch TV, so I was informed about this during my morning zoom meeting at work. Imagine turning on the TV and seeing that most channels are unavailable, just a black screen. And the same with news websites. This is a very strange feeling, believe me.

I'm anxious and scared, and I'm so afraid that soon this will not only be an industrial action but the new reality.

I've been protesting for months, and I'm so tired, especially that it's going only worse and worse... However, we can't give up. I will not agree with what is going on in Poland. It will be better #jeszczebędzieprzepięknie
