Those pokewalks of mine? Still more epic than yours. 🧡 Visby in golden afternoon light.

houses built into a medieval town wall
My pokewalks are more atmospheric than your pokewalks. u.u
You know, the usual stuff. *shrug*
Who knew? I mean when we were looking up stuff to do, the regular tourist stuff, this super cool medieval wall just did not hit the radar. We saw it. While up on the leaning tower of Pisa, we saw it. Just kind of looked like an old wall at first ending off to our left, but then we turned around and, well we were intrigued! The wall looked like it went on for a LONG time! We decided while it was not as hot yet, to high tail it over there and check it out! Adventure was our game.
The entrance fee I am pretty sure it was €3.00. We headed up a few flights of stairs and wow!!! We could see the whole Square of Miracles. It was beautiful. We headed to the shorter end so we could just see and say we did. Then, we headed back the long part, which took us quite some time. It was so cool to just walk along the wall and see so many different parts of the city.
From this vantage point, you could imagine what it was like back so many years ago. We stopped to look at the different brick, and different parts of the wall noting the repairs and some of the obvious differences in material. The greenery in Italy has been amazing and we saw so much during our walk. Knowing that this wall was built between 1155 and 1161 was simply amazing!!!!!!
I am sure most of what we stood on was the original. http://www.italianways.com/inside-and-outside-pisas-walls/
Here are some pictures I took from the wall.
This is a Jewish Cemetery that is visible from the wall

Hello!
Oh Hello!!!
Great shot of the Cathedral
The wall from the inside view
So green huh?
Imagine guards up there so long ago
Another view of the cemetary
The Baptistry
See all the people.. and I think this is mild!
Shello!
Peekaboo
A gate on the wall
The other side..
We think it was a school
So much greenery
I love this picture
Great views of the city
Traffic no matter where you go!
Rooftop dining
So many trees!
I think time to head off of the wall
Oh wait!! We are a team! together we go!
I highly recommend walking this wall! It is a really cool way to see parts of Pisa that you might not see. There are exits along the way 2 or 3 for sure. It is a great way to walk off your lunch or get hungry for lunch, which is what we did.
Remember when you travel, get off the beaten path. Do something different, something exciting. Adventure is out there waiting for you, you just need to find it and go with it!
As always, comments or corrections are appreciated…
Ciao
