Mediumship is a spiritual practice that involves a person, known as a medium, establishing communication with the spirit world. A medium can perceive, hear, and interact with spirits, acting as a conduit between the physical and spiritual realms.
For Black individuals, mediumship takes on a unique form. Rooted in distinctive spiritual practices, our connection with the spirit world differs from conventional methods. Black mediums often engage with spirit through heightened emotions and feelings, offering a language of the soul that is distinctively ours.
Mediumship can manifest in various ways for Black individuals, including sudden shifts in emotions (atmospheric changes), dreams, prophecy, visions, auditory experiences (hearing voices), visual encounters with spirits, and tangible sensations of spiritual presence.
While anyone can enhance sensitivity to the spirit realm, not everyone possesses the innate gift of mediumship. It's perfectly acceptable if your spiritual talents lie elsewhere, such as in healing, laying of hands, manifestation, word of knowledge, remote viewing, and more.
Mediumship itself is not dangerous, but improper practices can lead to challenging encounters with spirits. Active practitioners should engage in daily rituals to nurture and protect their gift. Spirits may seek communication aggressively if they sense a medium's ability. Learning to acknowledge spirits without harm is crucial in the medium's journey.
In my three-year journey as an active medium, I've encountered spirits in various ways. When I resisted acknowledging them, they manifested in dreams, inducing sleep paralysis—an act of communication. Objects in my home were knocked over, and spirits even seized my body. Through these experiences, I've learned to recognize them as messages and developed methods to interact without harm.
As a predominantly feeling-based medium, spirits communicate with me through tactile sensations—tugs, slaps, pushes, or an internal locking feeling. Understanding and navigating these physical encounters became a crucial aspect of my mediumship.
Learning to control your breath is fundamental. Breath is your life force; by mastering it, you gain control over your surroundings. Slowing down and breathing intentionally helps prevent panic, allowing you to accurately interpret a spirit's message.
Being grounded is paramount for a medium. Grounding techniques, such as visualizations or connecting with the earth, help establish a stable foundation. This foundation is essential to comprehend and interpret spiritual messages accurately.
Each medium receives messages differently. Through your training, you'll notice a heightened sensitivity to spirit messages. These messages may manifest in diverse ways—through feelings, visions, sounds, or even scents.
Spiritual attunement occurs over time. As you progress in your mediumship journey, you'll begin to notice spirits communicating with you in unexpected places, reaffirming your growing connection to the spiritual realm.
In my three-year journey as an active Medium, I've encountered spirits in various ways. These encounters include spirits appearing in dreams, inducing sleep paralysis when I resisted acknowledgment, knocking over objects in my home, and even seizing my body. Through my ongoing journey, I've acquired the skill to recognize these occurrences as acts of communication. I've also learned how to put spirits to rest while ensuring my own safety and well-being.
As a medium who predominantly experiences sensations, spirits often interact with me through physical means—tugs, slaps, pushes, or an internal sensation of being locked. Understanding and responding to these tactile communications has become an essential aspect of my mediumship.
Key Practices for Developing Mediumship:
Breath Control:
A foundational step in mediumship development is mastering breath control. By regulating your breath, you gain command over your environment. Slowing down and breathing intentionally becomes a tool to prevent panic and ensure a clear understanding of spiritual messages.
Maintaining a strong connection to the earth is crucial for a medium. Grounding techniques, such as visualization or connecting with nature, provide stability. Being grounded allows for a more accurate interpretation of spiritual messages.
Each medium has a distinct way of receiving messages. Throughout your training, you'll observe an increased sensitivity to spiritual messages. These messages may manifest through feelings, visions, sounds, or even scents.
Spiritual attunement is a gradual process. As you progress in your mediumship journey, you'll discover spirits communicating with you in unexpected places, showcasing the development of your connection to the spiritual realm.
Mediumship is a dynamic journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Acknowledge the uniqueness of your experiences and embrace the evolving connection with the spiritual realm. Through dedicated practice, breath awareness, and a grounded approach, you'll navigate your mediumship journey with increased clarity and understanding.

Hi, Jay!
Thank you so much for your kind message! It's lovely to know that my work is reaching an audience that is enjoying and benefitting from it. Off the top of my head, I can definitely recommend a few things: Learn about energy healing, and make a regular practice of it, so that you become very comfortable with feeling energy and using visualization to shift it and clear it. It's the best foundation for any spiritual work. You can reference books such as "The Psychic Healing Book," by Amy Wallace, and "Hands of Light," by Barbara Brennan. For psychic work and mediumship, I highly recommend the books "Medium," by Konstanza MorningStar, "Where Two Worlds Meet," by Janet Nohavec, and "Moving Beyond," by Fleur Leussink, who also offers courses and mentorship programs. For channeling, I recommend learning to practice clairaudient dictation, for which I describe a method in my more traditionally formatted version of my blog, "Voices from The Light" (where you can find a lot of my metaphysical writings.) Good books on channeling include "Opening to Channel," by Sanaya Roman, and "Channeling: The Heart and The Art," by my friend, Diana Muenz Chen (who, by the way, studied with Barbara Brennan!)
In general, my advice is to get to know your guides, learn to trust them, and try different methods of communication until you find ones that work for your sensibilities and guides. Don't focus on fear-based beliefs, but do take energetic and spiritual integrity, as well as basic protection and clearing, seriously. (I've written a lot about that on my blog!) Also, don't worry about whether or not you are "just making it up" (since ideally, the proof will be "in the pudding" - and anyway, the psychic senses are basically passive, receptive forms of imagination rather than an active, projective one), and don't be afraid to make mistakes. It's all a learning process, but once you've established a strong connection with your guides, they will teach you how to get better at communicating with them, and help your development unfold. Even startling experiences where you think you messed something up can be part of a learning process. Keep track of your hits and misses. Build up a list of all the times your clairsenses were right about something. Find some friends who resonate with you, and with whom you can practice, but know that you can develop a lot on your own, with your guides, as well.
By the way, as strange as it may sound, no method of magic has ever worked as well for me as connecting with my spirit guides, more or less spontaneously throwing a small "tantrum" at them about something I wanted to change, asking for help, and then giving charity in their name as thanks. You can always ask for temporary guides to help with a given issue, too. But you have to do the energetic groundwork to establish a strong, clear and joyful connection, first, so that you keep evolving and learning about your own energetic responsibility for what you manifest, through a two-way conversation.
There are some things I haven't posted here for formatting reasons, by the way, but have shared on Instagram - mainly a couple of videos in which I recently shared some insights on ITC and lessons on forming spiritual connections. I think I'll be posting more there from now on, so, if you like, you can follow me there, as well!

今日は、一日ワークショップを開催していました。初心者から上級者まで、異なるレベルの参加者の皆さんに楽しんでいただけたなら嬉しいです。全員のエネルギーが調和し、素晴らしい成績を残された方が多かったです。明後日30日（月）にも、同じ内容のワークショップを開催します。お申し込みをお待ちしています。（お申し込み締め切りは明日29日の16:30までです）
先日、東京都現代美術館で開催中の『石岡 瑛子 血が、汗が、涙がデザインできるか』に行って参りました。コロナウィルス感染予防対策で、どの美術館も今は予約制などの入場制限をかけていて、比較的混み合わずに鑑賞できます。石岡 瑛子さんは、アカデミー賞とグラミー賞の両方を獲得した日本が誇るアートディレクター・衣装デザイナーですので、詳しい説明はいらないと思います。展示作品数も多く、各テーマにふさわしい空間が次々に展開され、いかにこのアーティストが多岐にわたる活躍をしていたかがわかり、見応え十分でした。個人的には、一番最初の展示室にある、広告の作品群が印象的でした。
石岡さんの最初のキャリアは、資生堂の宣伝部（現クリエイティブ本部）から始まりました。まだMacが導入される前の、アナログな色校正の紙面に残された筆跡には、クリエイティビティを最大限に活かすためのデザイナーの願いが込められています。また同様に、それらの無茶な（？）リクエストを可能にする、当時の印刷技術も素晴らしかったと思います。自分の経験と比べるのもおこがましいのですが、私もグラフィックデザイナーの末席を汚していた身として、現在も商品デザインをアートとして捉え、メセナ活動を継続している企業である資生堂関連の広告や、プロダクトデザイン等を担当させてもらっていた時代を振り返り、その幸運に感謝しています。デジタル以前のグラフィックデザインには、クライアント、アートディレクター、デザイナー、写植屋、印刷所など、それぞれ専門的な異なる分野を担う技術者達のチームワークが欠かせませんでした。それに加えて、いくらデザイナーが良いアイデアやクリエイティビティを持っていても、最終的にそれを伝える新聞・雑誌・テレビ・ラジオ・ネットなどのメディアに十分な機能がないと送り手に伝わりません。その関係性の大切さを、ミディアム（メディア）という、それまでとは逆の立場になる前に既に学んでいたのかもしれません。
今、私は光の世界の表現を最大限に生かすよう、道具（ミディアム）として働いています。そして、自分がグラフィックデザイナーだった頃から、何となく気づいていました。この世で一番偉大なアーティストは、神様であるということを。

今週はいいお天気が続いていたのですが、ずっと家にこもって29日に開催するワークショップの準備をしていました。いつものように、レクチャーの資料や実習の内容を考えていたら…徐々にノリノリになってきて、時間が経つのも忘れて没頭していました。今回もヴィジュアル満載な資料を使ったレクチャーから始まり、このワークショップのために用意したSitting in the Power クレアヴォヤンス編を含むいくつかの動画や、クイズ形式の楽しい実習などなど、てんこ盛りな内容で参加者の皆さまと楽しい時間を過ごしたいと思っています。このワークショップで、ご自身の内側に眠る第三の目を開花させてください。お申し込み及びお支払いはどちらの回も、前日の午後３時まで受け付けています。ご参加はこちらからどうぞ！（写真はワークショップの資料の表紙です）
11月23日は５年前にアイイスのミディアム認定試験を受けた日でした。あっという間にミディアム６年生になりました。これからも自分のペースで霊性を磨き、学び続けていきたいです。

森：今日は過去世のデモをしようと思っていたんですが、ご自身のところにまず男性が来ていて、お父様ってお元気ですか？
女性：亡くなっています。
森：かなり見守っている感じです。きちっとした方でした？
女性：はい。
森：生前は厳しい感じでした？
女性：厳しい、ですかね、はい。厳しいと思います。
森：だけど、別に堅苦しいというか…ユーモアもあったと思うんですけど。
女性：すごいありました。
森：美学のようなものを持っていたと思うんですが、いかがですか？
女性：美学…。
森：男の美学、こうあるべきだ、って感じ？（笑）
女性：すごく頑固でしたね。
森：こうあるべき、という自分のルールがあった気がしますね。過去世を伝えようと思っていたのですが、このお父様が出てきたい、、伝えたい、とおっしゃっています。メガネのことをおっしゃっています。お父様はメガネはかけていらっしゃいました？
女性：メガネはかけていなかったです。
森：ご自身はメガネをかけていらっしゃいますが、変えようと思っていらっしゃいます？
女性：変えようと思っています。
森：デザインのことをお父様がおっしゃっていますけれど。形やデザインが決まった形じゃないと、というこだわりはあります？
女性：ないです。自分に合えば、その時合ってれば、と思えば（デザインを変えています）。
森：で、毎回変えていますか、デザインは。
女性：購入するときは、毎回変えています。
森：じゃあ、お父様はデザインのことをおっしゃっているんですね。遊び心を持った方ですね。おわかりになります？
女性：はい。
森：ご自身に対して、もっとリラックスして、肩の力を抜いて、もっと遊んでいいんだよ、とおっしゃっている感じがするんですよ。
女性：（笑）
森：無理そうですか？（笑）ちょっと、挑戦してみてくださいね。馬鹿げたりくだらないことに夢中になってもいいと。ご自分でストップかけたりしています？
女性：あんまりそういうタイミングはちょっと少ないのかな、と思いますね。
森：ご自分の性格を曲げてまでする必要はないですが、（お父様が）おっしゃっているということは、ご自身の中に子どものような純粋な部分、駆けずり回ったり、自分をさらけ出して、わ〜っと大声出したりとか、歌ったりとかする、子どもの部分があるから。それを解放してください、とお父様がおっしゃっています。過去世もすごく戒律の多い文化に女性として生まれていらっしゃると思うんですよ、優等生で、多分長女だったと思う。お子さんっていらっしゃいます？
女性：はい。
森：男の子？
女性：はい、男の子が３人います。
森：その過去世で、我慢を強いられた女性に生まれて、男の子に憧れていた部分があるんだと思う。お子さんを通じて少しずつご自身で抑圧してきた部分を（今世で）少しずつ解放していく道の途中にいらしゃると思うんです。きっと、今世で男性に生まれていたら戸惑う部分が多かったと思うので、光はそうやって緩やかにご自身を指導していて、男性を育てることで、男の人ってこういうものだと、こんなに違うし、男性にも苦労の部分が多いというようなことを少しずつ学んでいらっしゃっている過程なんだと思います。今、時間が惜しくて出来るだけいろいろなことをやりたい、というのはあります？
女性：ありますね。あるけれど、自分で抑えちゃっている。できないだろうなって、蓋をしてきてしまっています。それをやめたいって、今思っています。
森：少しずつやっていけばいいんですよ、今世だけじゃないし。焦らずに、じっくり一つ一つの事を確かにやって、手応えを感じながら進んだ方がいいです。そういうお気持ちもあると思うんですよ、ちょっと進んだらまた戻ってやり直したりとか。何度も同じことをすることの価値観もお持ちだと思うんです。やりたいことリストは魂が憶えていて、忘れてしまうことはないから、温存してください。それをやる時が来たら、必ず（ご自身は）やりますから。
女性：はい、ありがとうございます。

この６時間ワークショップは、霊能力の中のクレアヴォヤンス（霊視）にフォーカスし、段階を踏みながらご自身の「千里眼」を目覚めさせることを目的としています。
クレアヴォヤンスとは「鮮明な視覚」という意味のフランス語/ラテン語で、主に眉間にあるサードアイを使って直感力でヴィジョンを見ることをいい、またそのような能力のある人をクレアヴォヤントと呼びます。
