Keys skidded across the living room table; only coming to a stop when they fell off the other side and landed on the floor. The door clicked shut behind Vilja and now gun and knife followed, both thudding heavily on the wooden table top. A ritual of sorts. Detaching herself from whatever she did over the course of any given day.
The Finn didn't pay much attention to where her jacket landed– or the heels she kicked off. Right now her thoughts were too pre-occupied by the occurrences of the past weeks. It had been a while coming, even if Matthew hadn't been aware. It had actually been the Russian that had taken care of the final step; rolling his eyes before placing the call. "Shit happens, Солнышко." He'd spoken with a grin. His other plan had been a different one. A bullet to the man's head if only to get things over with.
Vilja had been the one to object. While she had no issues setting him up for her crimes, only to clear her name and start new with the Russian– killing him was a bit extreme. There'd be hard feelings, but perhaps he'd even understand and see that it could've gone worse. (Would he though? Matt could be temperamental and obsessive at the best of times.)
She'd kept her mouth shut towards her partner, but the Russian had picked up on her behaviour soon enough. Despite the worry on her face the man had merely nodded as she'd asked for a few days. Figuring that she'd tell him if it was anything serious or an actual concern.
Would he come after her? Matthew would have enough on his hands with the police on his tail. There too was no way he'd know how and where to track her down. Yet, anxiety had been blooming in her chest ever since quickly swallowed down and ignored. This, she couldn't get hung up on.
Eventually she settled for something to drink; crossing the spartan flat without bothering with the lights. A glass was quickly procured, as a cooled bottle of Zubrowka. This would work out just fine, Vilja told herself, they'd catch up to Matthew eventually and her former partner would be out of her hair for quite some time.
