Author Notes about him

AceDragon Luke... Is my favorite. He is so caring and sweet when his walls are down. He will go through hell for the ones he loves. It hurts when he is alone. He has been alone a lot and now he is hopeful for a friend that will stay as long as they can. He is willing to protect Sam. Damn his reputation. 

He hurts others because he grew up wrong. His mind is so twisted to what he should do and how he should act. Sam is helping him greatly. Luke cares for Sam deeply. He doesn’t know why though.

PhoneixFox Ahhhh Luke <3 he’s the bestest most loving I can’t- he’s one of my favorite people ever. I loved him in this book because he’s still got this rough edge to him which really shows later in how far he’s come. He cares so deeply for his friends and family and he’s someone that everyone cherishes.  I love him so so so much!

Luke sighed, adjusting the strap of his bag over his shoulder as he wandered out of the gym. He was glad to be getting out of there, even though the session had been rewarding. He raised a hand to his mouth to cover up a yawn and, seconds later, felt his bad shoulder hit someone else. His hand went straight to his shoulder. “Ah, shit,” he muttered, eyes moving to look at the person he’d bumped into. “Sorry ‘bout that. You good?”

What a prim and proper angel. He needed to get out of Aidan's house. Being in this town for too long had a way of suffocating people, even the good ones. Especially the good ones.

"Deliverin' a package. Gotta get it there safely, like a good courier. What, ya gonna get fired if ya come?"

Luke considered. His 'boss' would probably rather he didn't work anyway. That didn't feel like a problem.

"No, but I should pack. When do you need to leave?" without thinking, he reached across, fingers gliding across MJ's wrist.

The chair was taken up with his entire body, draping a leg over the arm, slumping back as though from a hard-day's work of doing nothing in particular.

"Thinkin'... across state lines? I got some shit to do down south. South-south, like Louisiana. Ya wanna come with? See the world from my RV? We'll stop at any weird shit on the way back. Any place ya want."

The angels turned in his seat to fully case the other, sitting so primp and proper in comparison. They were an unlikely pair. Luke's eyes widened and blinked before he laughed and the baffled expression melted into amusement.

"That's more than a joyride! That would take days, wouldn't it? What are you doing in Louisiana?"

What MJ would call an average-sized arm looked nearly gargantuan across Luke's chest. Months apart, the angel earned a lingering hug, squeezed almost too tightly. Some might see the near-pain as an act of love. Maybe.

"I'm not makin' a fuss. You ain't makin' a fuss." Ronan didn't make a fuss - oddly enough. "Ain't no fuss. We're just gonna go on a joy ride. How's that?"

Luke laughed, leaning back against the other, rubbing hands over MJ's arms. His way of returning the hug.

"Really? That sounds fun. Where are we going?" he pulled out the chair beside him, patting the seat for the other to sit down. His bookmark was moved and the book slid into his small crossbody bag.

Pale, cold hands covered Luke Husher's eyes. He hadn't seen or felt these hands in months, but that's all it had been, mere months in the span of eternity. Surely, he wouldn't have missed MJ Calloway that much.

"I heard from a birdie s'your birthday."

Luke easily prickled at the loss of sight, back straightening, his book slowly lowered to the table.

But that familiar voice made him relax, a smile breaking out across his face.

He leaned away to look behind at the one he'd long ago labeled his friend.

"How did you know?" he almost blushed. He'd kept this under wraps! There was just one person he could imagine sharing such information... "I'm so old, there's no reason to make a fuss of it."

Luke had somehow convinced Ren to meet him for a guided meditation session. He had thought it would be beneficial for the other and was extremely glad when he finally accepted - though he had done his best to now let his excitement show.

Ren had been invited to Luke's little flat. He had cleaned and tidied and ensured a calm and serene environment for the other as soon as he stepped in.

Hearing the buzzer Luke was quick to go over and answer. "Hi Ren! Come in!" Ren would hear through the speaker, along with the sound of the entrance door unlocking. "I'm on the fourth floor on your right."

Some things had remained secret after all this time, to his quiet surprise. He had never opened his mouth otherwise, but it had been years now since his embrace. Four years of night and in that time, it seemed, Ronan had not put the pieces together.

"I imagine," he said to his feet, "it would hurt if the blood were spoiled. Poisoned."

Ronan's knowledge of life in general was limited. He didn't tend to seek information he didn't need. Perhaps he'll realise the problem that causes soon.

Luke seemed genuinely concerned by what Rosmond was saying. "Do you have a way of knowing beforehand? As in... can you smell it, or anything like that? That sounds so dangerous..."
