Not too long ago there was a tag going around social media to #MeetTheArtist . It was a way for artists on Tumblr, Instagram, and other platforms to introduce themselves to their followers. It was also a great way to find discover new artists through the tag. I did a bit of searching and wasn’t able to find an activity like this for writers. Let’s start one! Write out an introduction for yourself. Typically these posts include the following:
*Name/Preferred Name/Nickname/Handle (or pen name if you prefer)
*Age/Birthday
*Gender Identity/Pronouns
*Sign/Blood Type/Myers-Briggs Type/Anything pertaining to how you identify or explain your personality
*A drawing of yourself (in this case it would be a short bit of writing about your appearance
*Things you like and things you dislike (in some cases it’s love/hate yay/nay yah/nah etc.)
*What’s in my bag? (What do you carry around with you/have to have on you)
I’d like to add a few suggestions just for writers
*Currently Reading
*What genre(s) do you write
*What genre(s) do you like/dislike
and anything else you’d like to include in your bio.
After you submit your response and if it’s possible PLEASE also post your responses under the #TWH365PromptChallenge and if you could add a “meet the writer” tag that would be cool too. Then go check out other writers participating in this challenge. I’d be cool to see new friendships and conversations happen because of this challenge. Yesterday I found out that an admin on here is from the same place as me and it was super exciting! Their response really made my day. Who knows who you could meet? Let’s get some community going!
If you need references or ideas feel free to check the “meet the artist” tag on tumblr or ig. If you don’t want to divulge this information about yourself that’s completely ok. Make one up for a character. There are two thing I can’t stress enough about this challenge. First, if there’s anything that you don’t feel comfortable sharing because of where you are in life then don’t share it. Where ever you are on your journey is ok and if there’s information you’re not ready to share that’s ok. We want your safety and well being (both mental and physical) to be top priority. Second, please be kind if you are looking at other people’s responses. This goes for any of the prompts but especially this one. You might see something you don’t understand or you don’t agree with. Use respect. Educate yourself if you’re confused (google is always there for you) and understand that the writing you are reading is coming from someone being vulnerable and putting themselves out there. They are a person with struggles, feelings, and opinions just like you. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Admin A response:
1. Name: Admin A (sorry folks we have to stay anon here but I can say my name starts with an A)
2. Birthday: April 17th
3. Gender Identity/Pronouns: I’m a cisgender female who uses the pronouns she/her
4. My sign is Aries, my blood type is O, and I am an ENFP. The sorting hat couldn’t decide between putting me in Ravenclaw or Slytherin so I guess I’m a Slytherclaw. Almost everyone assumes I’m a Hufflepuff.
5. If you were to see me on the street you would probably think “woah that girl is excited... and very crafty” and you’d be correct. There is always evidence on my person that I’ve been crafting something. I always have brightly colored chin length hair and my sides are shaved. Currently my hair is pink with a lot of dark brown roots showing because I’m lazy and not a hairstylist. Most often my clothes have accents of cat hair and possibly a coffee stain.
6. My likes include writing, reading, crafting, adventures, and trying to make friends with every animal I meet. My dislikes are ignorance, pessimism, Sunny D, and lack of empathy.
7. When I’m out I always have my phone, my wallet, and a knitting or crochet project on me. Most of the time I also have library books I’m returning, a few pre-made toiletry packs for people might need them, a notebook, and a smile.
8. I’m currently reading You Can't Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain by Phoebe Robinson.
9. I love writing anything because I enjoy trying new genres and trying to challenge myself.
10. My favorite genre is YA fiction but really there are so many that I love. I like to try a little bit of everything. My least favorite genre is probably cozy mystery only because the books get very predictable. I have read some though because my grandma loves them and I love talking to my grandma.

Meet the Author/Podcaster ⛅️Good morning, my dear friends! I am absolutely LOVING this open-window weather. I’ve been waiting for temperatures like this for a very long time.⛅️ I just want to give that give a bigger picture about me and what the flip I’m doing here.👋 📕15 years ago I wrote my first book called As Magic Shifts. 📗Two-ish years later I wrote my second book The Witch’s Pupil, and that was finally released in 2010. I had big aspirations for myself and my writing at that time, but my second book flopped in a big way according to my young and naive standards, despite how good it was. I got married in 2010, and I was married for 10 years. During that time I wrote any type of composition you could imagine; meditation collections, short stories, a ton of technical writing for my MBA, and so much more. But nothing substantial like a book. Now that life has changed in a big way and I find myself living in a tiny house 🏠 in Northern Utah, it’s time to pursue the goals I had so long ago to take the steps to become a household name. My work in progress is called 📘The Paper Witch, Book One of the Angelus Method, and it’s coming along SO NICELY! I can’t wait to get it done and out there! With this project is a podcast I started called🎙 Writing in the Tiny House, with Devin Davis. It’s all about writing and reading and filled with BOOK REVIEWS! 📚Also I cover the process in how to write and produce a book once the first draft is finished. In the meantime, I hang out with my boys when I have them. They absolutely love the tiny house, and I couldn’t be more please about that. But in the moments I’m alone, I’m working on the book. The first draft should be finished in May. So that’s a little picture about me. Feel free to introduce yourself! 💭Question of the day: What’s your easiest form of self-care? . . . . . #meetthebookstagrammer #meetthewriter #meettheauthor #meetthepodcaster #thisisme #hereiam #podcastersofinstagram #writersofinstagram #authorsofinstagram #booksbooksbooks #killingitdaily #dadofboys #fatherofboys #writingpodcasts #wavetothecamera https://www.instagram.com/p/COVb30RLBNz/?igshid=19qutg4t04xzc
Inspired by @blairimani and #AdobeSpark - I decided to do a “Get to Know Me” block thing. It’s not the best thing I’ve ever made, but I think it lets you know mostly what I’m about, kind of... #GetToKnowMe #Introductions #MeetTheWriter #Adobe 📌Credits & Notes📌 This graphic was created using the free app Adobe Spark! It’s easy to use, professional looking, and very accessible for up-and-comers on a budget. I’ve been using it for years in a few capacities and I am never disappointed! #NotASponsor https://www.instagram.com/p/CH_0_W2A0Vw/?igshid=wedg94g1eles
