7. can i just say the entirety of my original shitty pokeshipping fic that got me into ficwriting in the first place. i mean. i’m glad it got me into ficwriting. but oh my god the entire thing was so cliche. (except the part where ash got to be ho-oh’s host. that was cool. but everything else that came with it, no. not so much.) i still kinda cringe when i remember it.

i think one that really comes to mind is chapter 6 of There Is No Good In It (i.e.: mmsf bad end au), mostly because this chapter is the real tipping point that really illustrates how much has Fucked Up, and how it’s too late to save anything? also it’s kind of the defining point of what makes Bad End Rockman take the path he does, and what makes up his entire modus operandi. so, you know. maybe hikaru does get to live on a little, in him. maybe that’s his ultimate revenge on the world. congrats, hikaru.

but also the entirety of Cycles, because as I mentioned in a previous ask, this fic pretty much defines my personal interpretation of Solo, and what I imagine his character arc would be like, if he was allowed to have one. ha.

On the topic of RPG's, what kind of battle system will SLARPG have? Will it be turn-based to give the player time to think, like pokemon, or action based? One of my all-time favorite battle systems is from Megaman Starforce. I think the idea of letting you choose your weapons specifically and plan your attacks based on them appearing in random order leads for a lot of fun in strategy, and the noise change system was fantastic. Also 3D models are cool. Could there be a chance of online matches?

slarpg is working off of the basic rpg maker battle system, so it’s turn based. think dragon quest or mother. i’m trying to do interesting things with it so that it’s not super generic, though

i really like the battle systems in battle network and star force, but i just don’t think that i could pull off something like that myself with my current level of experience. and even if i could, it would add a ton of work to slarpg’s development

You seem to like making games in the RPG format a lot, but have you ever considered trying to make a platformer similar to the likes of Shovel Knight or Mega Man? While frustrating, they are alway the most satisfying for me to finish.

i’d actually love to make a platformer someday! i’m just gravitating towards JRPGs at this point in my career because rpg maker is such an easy engine to use, and after slarpg i’ll be focusing on andromi, which is basically structured like an rpg with no combat

but i’d love to make a 2d platformer in game maker in the future, either with a linear level-by-level design or in the form of a metroidvania. i already have multiple ideas for different games like that jotted down in my notes, some of which could work in the slarpg universe potentially and others that could be their own thing

and i mean, the mega man series was like, one of my biggest inspirations as a kid when i decided i wanted to become a gamedev. in middle school i pretty much just wanted to make a version of mega man with my own characters. so i feel like it would be weird of me to never make a game like that

The game looks amazing too bad it WILL NEVER COME OUT. First promised to come out 2015, then it would "DEFINITELY" come out 2016. Now the're telling us it's 2017.

From what it looked like the delays actually helped, like the three/four years of development really show in all of the detail and polish. Plus, it’s going to be the game to sell the NX pretty much, so I don’t see them delaying it much longer. it looks pretty well done.

I have faith in Nintendo and if that means waiting 3 years for a Zelda game that will be the best Nintendo’s ever put out, that means I’ll wait. Rushing development on games Is never a good idea. Remember Atari and ET?? Remember Spyro the Dragon: Enter the Dragonfly? yeah. that’s what happens when you rush game development.

Nintendo’s taking the smart path.

I see how much ya love MM Starforce & Battle Network, but I raise you this question, have you ever tried the very first series, the one that started it all, Megaman classic? It's my favorite series by far, because COME ON, awesome robots? Sign me up! It's also the longest series, starforce has 3 games, battle network has 6, and classic has a whooping 11 GAMES. and thats not including the +30 spin-off titles. So you'll be entertained for a long time.

but actually i am shit at sidescrolling games so i never did play them. i attempted to play zx once and took thirty minutes to get through the tutorial level and could never really master that double jump/glide jump thing. so even though i managed to get like. harpuia's model or whatever that green dude was i could never get past anything that had spikes. that's how shitty i am at sidescrolling platformers.

tl'dr i've tried and i have a feeling i'd love the characters there too but im shit at that specific gaming medium :'D
