@greenbunny7 you asked about Ruthe last night, but be warned you are about to traverse into a long ramble.

Ruthe is an OC I share with @duck-in-the-universe for our @megaflora-zenith story (Space Pirates)

Essentially, how this all starts is Ruthe and Kolgo are framed for a heist on a museum that Kolgo and Echo (Ruthe's wife/partner) work at.

She sneaks both Kolgo and herself out of the jail cells, determined to prove her innocence. By stealing a ship.

Soon after they come across Bahn and Wire, and Jordan after that.

We start the story with Ruthe pistol whipping a pirate captain of a well-known crew which starts a bar fight.

She's an alien species from a planet with megaflora, based off of flying lemurs!

Anyways she's my lawful good character in a setting where she can't be lawful. Or even all that good.

What inspired you to create Ruth? Or the idea behind the story? idk if I've ever asked that before, but I am curious :D

I could be getting some of the details wrong (poor memory), so @duck-in-a-spaceship feel free to hop in and correct any misinformation (if you want to /nf)

So, the idea behind the story is that Duck and I wanted to cowrite something together! We've been friends for a while and thought it might be fun! After some debate we came up with the premise of Space Pirates.

Funnily enough, Kelp was the first pirate I created (we each sort of created our own pirates and then merged them together to create the crew).

The inspiration behind Ruthe is that of flying lemurs! We were trying to come up with a species that would be on a world similar to Earth, but with larger plants, and larger animals. And after some yapping, we ended up creating both Ruthe and Kolgo.

We wanted this to be a more comedic story in a more grim universe, so we wanted a kind of new pirate crew making their way through their solar system. Planet hopping and thieving. Honestly it's been really fun to work on.

But part of that comedic world building was: How to make this make sense + be a funny character for the crew. And for Ruthe it was to make her, essentially, the Lawful Good Getaway Driver lol.

I've put A Lot of thought into how she dresses. She may be a mother, but that doesn't mean she isn't *stylish*
