todays show was originally broadcast live exactly 10 years ago, almost to the day. the @nts_radio archives don’t seem to go back that far so I thought it would be the ideal time to air it again. it was a couple days after mehdi had passed id just seen him at bestival on the Sunday and 2 days later he was gone. I was absolutely gutted and it was only right to play some of his music to the masses. if you’ve never heard any of his music you have so much to look forward to, the tracks in this show are just the tip of the iceberg, his catalogue runs so so deep. i really miss bumping into Mehdi at festivals and clubs all over the world because he was always happy to see you and the opposite of what a huge DJ was at that time, he was always having fun and not on any bullshit, truly one of the nicest people you could ever meet. i know everyone says that about everyone when they pass but he was special. as a DJ he will always be an inspiration, in fact he is one of the reasons i quit my day job and pursued DJing full time after we played the same lineup at fabric. Incidentally I was at fabric on Mehdi’s anniversary two years later when I got a phone call telling me my dad had passed.
