I know exactly which show you are talking about..and can't help but agree...yaar I just take off the earphones when they play darmiyaan song in all ek shows these days..I'm like..I get it you love the song ek...but the viewers do not need to be badgered with them...
Apart from the Darmiyaan, Main Tenu Samjhawaan and Tu Jaane Na are two such songs which have been repeated number of times.
Oh God ! This weird mismatch case is not only with EK shows. Gul Begum is no less. In fact every damn serial, they just burst our ears with their weird bgs ! For instance, the male lead catches hold of female lead after they collide and the same old the bracelet-gets-stuck-to-the-sleeve scene arrived. Then, what do we get in the bg? “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” (The love story didn’t even start and they are playing songs of separation)
The worst is when they ROMANTICISE ABUSING. If the male lead twists the female lead’s hand and tears of pain are coming out from the eyes, what do we get in the bg ? “SOCH NA SAKE?” Like seriously?!
You need to have some sense of coordination between music and scene. And till date, only Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai have been able to achieve this sync. Some serials like Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, have got their own set of bg’s and OSTs which are lot better than those same film tracks being repeated on loop.
P.S : EK’s spiritual bg’s are icing on the cake. She was the trend setter for these right?
