摩洛哥四大皇城之一，是除了菲斯、馬拉卡治、拉巴特之外，另一個歷史上的首都。

廣場和最美的曼蘇爾城門(Bab Mansour)從2019開始整修至今尚未完工，還好旁邊的Dar Jamai博物館沒有讓我失望。

It grew rapidly under Roman rule from the 1st century AD onward and expanded to cover about 42 hectares (100 acres) with a 2.6 km (1.6 mi) circuit of walls. The city gained a number of major public buildings in the 2nd century, including a basilica, temple and triumphal arch.
