"You'll be observing." Noah blinks. "Huh?" Rex doesn't relax, but he does let out a huff of air, like he'd been holding his breath. "I get a break? Finally."

Today is a big day for Rex. Six has been training him for just over a year now; Six trusts that Rex can handle himself with the smaller EVOs. And before they move to sapients—who are inherently unpredictable and dangerous—Six figures they should stick with animals. The EVO is 11131, a red alligator with extra arms, eyes, teeth, webbed toes, and something like fins along its back. Dangerous, but slow moving in cramped quarters—with as quickly as Rex's brain moves, Six figures it will give him the upper hand.
