Little Boys Don't Cry (Adore x Courtney)- Melanie M.
A/N: So, this is my submission for the No Dialogue thing…more Adore x Courtney cuz the world doesn’t have enough of that. It’s based on Todrick Hall’s song “Over the Rainbow”. Enjoy!~ Mel
Little boys don’t cry,
Adore brushed the tears away from her face, shutting her phone off, the hateful words turned to black.
Little boys aren’t shy,
Courtney walked in, her smile fading as she took Adore’s figure into her arms, hugging her tight.
Little boys are tough, they do stuff that little girls won’t try.
Adore tried to stop crying, emotions are not fun. She had worked hard to stay away from the harsh comments, but failed.
Little boys don’t dance,
Courtney pressed play on the little jukebox, soft melodies playing. She led Adore, hands on her hips, Adore’s around her neck.
Little boys wear pants,
Adore giggled and smiled as Courtney’s fingers brushed the hem of Adore’s skirt. It flowed out as the two waltzed across the dressing room.
Little boys are bold,
Adore tentatively pressed her red lips to Courtney’s pink ones. Courtney reciprocated the contact, pressing her body against the punk queen.
And then told, they don’t hold little boys hands.
Courtney threaded her fingers through Adore’s, holding her close as they swayed to the music.
Dad said, “I don’t believe in magic
But I do believe in you
And son if you believe in daddy
Take a look at this book and believe it’s true.”
Adore regretted not having a relationship with her dad, but if it meant she didn’t get to love Courtney like this, she didn’t want one. Her drag friends were her everything, and she treasured Courtney more than she treasured life.
There’s somewhere over the rainbow
And if you change the way you love
Then maybe you can go
The streets are paved with bricks of gold
Adore forgot the hate, she forgot the pain, she just held on to Courtney. They danced and danced, all smiles and kisses. Courtney was all Adore needed to survive. Her, and pizza. Mainly Courtney though.
