Melchiz Tzedeck
The LIGHTWARDENS are an orthodox order of rangers serving as part of the Church Militant, and are charged with defending the faithful from the depredations of evil, in particular those wrought by Fel- and Shadow-wielders and other servants of the Great Dark. Lightwardens specialise in high-importance, small-u
From the guild rules:
3. No Drama. If you are the type of person who feels the need to make everything into a melodramatic scene, this is not the guild for you. While roleplay (and improving critique) can cause a small amount of drama, this is not an excuse for you to make a mountain out of a molehill. We want a good, friendly atmosphere where people can feel comfortable to speak their mind.
4. Be Courteous. No racism, sexism, or discrimination of any sort. In essence, do not say anything about someone else that is against Blizzard’s defined E.U.L.A. A certain amount of cursing and playful banter is allowed in guild chat, but when it begins to cross lines and make people feel uncomfortable, it must stop without remark or question.
When I brought up Regg’s racist trolling, Melchiz dismissed it. Not really a surprise, but sometimes I wonder why people make guild rules they have no intention of enforcing.
What are Alonsus II's thoughts on his three Lords-soon-to-be-Cardinals?
Lord Chamberlain Niklos Adamant
Niklos Adamant and Alonsus are longtime friends, dating back to when Moorwhelp was a lowly priest in Lordaeron. Since he has returned, Moorwhelp regards their history as somewhat troubled - as he does with all of his three Lords that were instrumental in the reign of Caspius, who, in many ways, shot down Moorwhelp’s ambition to make the Clergy guild more essential to the church.
But, Caspius and Moorwhelp made amends, and the Clergy adapted. Moorwhelp doesn’t spend any time consuming those memories. He reappointed him Chamberlain after election. As Chamberlain, Niklos has served Alonsus well in uniting the Congregation of the Silver Hand to be the largest paladin organization that has existed since the days of the Third War. He believes that more attention ought to be directed to Lordaeron, and though he was in the past disillusioned by failures in the north, he is pleased to see a brand new group surrounding Niklos and advising him well: the Remnant of Lordaeron.
Niklos runs a tight ship, and Moorwhelp respects that in a co-leader of the Church. In many ways, the flaws of one are compensated in the strengths of the other.
Lord Vicar Melchiz Tzedeck
Alonsus taught the Lord Vicar as a priest, so he has a natural filial relationship with him that is above that in others. He did not believe that Melchiz was ready to become a bishop when he did, but he was complicit in the wishes of his Archbishop at the time. Melchiz, in Moorwhelp’s thoughts, was too rigid to be the face of the faith to Gilneas, a notoriously independent and sometimes isolationist people, and that that would lead him to be an ineffectual leader.
However, Moorwhelp was wrong, and, especially lately, Melchiz has impressed Moorwhelp by his ability to keep the Lightwardens in line. He finds the Lightwardens to be essential to the growth of the Church. He is baffled by how he manages to produce so many good priests, but he decided long ago that he didn’t need to understand. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say!
Melchiz produces results in the priesthood and, most importantly, keeps the Sacred Texts people at arm’s length for him. That’s important, you know!
Lord Chancellor Allrick Antonius
Moorwhelp is disappointed in Allrick. He is susceptible to bribes, bad decisions, and no small amount of deception. He failed Moorwhelp in obtaining peace and devotion in Stromgarde and gave it to Koah, who, despite his best intentions, is also failing, giving way to the notoriously belligerent Alliance of Arathor; furthermore, he, when asked to help him reform the canon law, gave Moorwhelp only suggestions that Moorwhelp thought were bad. Moorwhelp promised the people at his election to reform canon law, the only promise he made that he has not kept to date. He takes that promise seriously and sees that he isn’t getting any meaningful help with Allrick. Recently, Allrick disappeared and has stayed gone for months, as he is also prone to doing.
Moorwhelp was willing to overlook that for some time, but lately, as the Church has experienced a booming growth, Moorwhelp is confronted with the fact that he has choices in the cabinet. He honored Allrick’s position only out of a desire to work with an establishment that censured him only a month before his election.
Alonsus is considering his options for replacing the ineffectual Chancellor, for which he has no affection anymore.
