I’ve had the privilege of being exposed to all sorts of food growing up but if I had to have only one cuisine for the rest of my life I think I will choose Japanese. Heard about this restaurant but finally went there for a lovely meal on our anniversary. The menu is unique and the vibe of the place was just so relaxing. The wait and service staff were really nice too. We had the goat cheese mousse for starters. So delicious, especially if you’re like me and love cheese. The toasted baguette was perfect with the mousse, and the portion of the cheese was deceivingly big. For mains, I had the Singapore style chili crab spaghettini and it was really yummy! Haven’t had chilli crab in awhile so it was such a treat for my taste buds. Dav had the paperbag oven-baked halibut fillet. The sauce was superb, the fish was so fresh, I couldn’t help picking more than a few mouths😋 And I shared my spaghettini too, don’t worry haha. I had a strange pasta craving out of the blue for lunch today. There wasn’t enough time to whip up something nice before lunch so I took away something on the way back from the library. Sadly, the pasta wasn’t great. This other one we had together with the family in SG was so much better! Glad we did hotpot again tonight. The husband has indulged me with three rounds in the last two months! Probably the last for the year since it’s warming up here, so I’m glad we got a photo. Saturdays are for exploring and we’re so glad for the company today to try new food. Dinner with some neighbours was Japanese food. I had the Unadon set which had really fresh sushi and tasty unagi. Rice overload, and the set came with miso soup, some croquette and beans on the side. Place was packed out, must book seats in advance. I will always remember my first gyro in Athens on a school choir competition when I was 14. Not sure if it was because I was so hungry, or if it was the memorable trip but that gyro was super yummy. 14 years on (just a few days ago), I had this lamb pita with fries in it and it brought back some good memories. Amazing how food can be linked to cherished memories eh? We had some Japanese fusion cafe food for lunch. Mine was the mentaiko seafood squid ink pasta. The husband had the crab and salmon omelette topped with seafood bisque, and a croissant on the side. Clearly Dav does not bother to wait for me to take a nice pic before eating🤦🏻‍♀️😂Both dishes were very unique, had superb flavour! Pretty pricey food, but portion was really decent. Glad Dav found this little cafe tucked in a very unassuming street. Had a super rare kid-free meal out today! Really good French 3-course lunch set; mine was escargots, seafood plate, sticky date pudding. Will definitely be back next time with family. Yeah, I finished all that I ordered 🙈🤰🏻-> Food baby, no actual baby😂 . Met this bunch of stay home mums (with our kids just months apart from each other) at playgroup pretty much from the start, and I’m very thankful for friendships that have blossomed.
